Every year, after the festival, we hear the same thing from families.

"I nearly didn't come."

Life is busy. Weekends fill up. Children wake up grumpy. The weather apps do their best to put us off.

In fact, last year it rained. And then it rained some more. And just when we thought it had finished... it rained again.

But do you know what nobody talks about now?

The weather.

They talk about the dancing. The laughter. The friends they made. The memories they created together.

Because when children are having the time of their lives, they don't care if the sun is shining or if they're jumping in puddles.

That's what Baby Band Festival has always been about.

Not just the music, activities and entertainment (although there's plenty of that ).

It's about giving families the chance to press pause and enjoy a day they'll still be talking about long after summer is over.

A little appreciation post for Pete

You all see me all the time, but behind the scenes there's a very important person helping to keep Baby Band running (and keeping me sane!)... Pete.

Pete is our musical genius, composing all of our original tracks and he makes our nursery rhyme arrangements sound absolutely brilliant. He's also the go-to IT support for our amazing team of franchisees and me, fixing problems I didn't even know existed!

Alongside all of this, he's still Head of Music at a huge secondary school in York four days a week, meaning he only gets one full day in the Baby Band office. Unsurprisingly, I always have a very long list of jobs waiting for him.

One of the things I love most is that I can take any crazy idea to him. While my response is usually "Let's do it!", his is more often, "Yes, but... let's think about this for a minute." He brings the calm, the logic and the solutions whenever I'm having a wobble.

As Baby Band continues to grow, we're slowly carving out more and more of Pete's role within the business, and it's exciting to think that one day the balance will tip towards more Baby Band days than classroom teaching days.

For now, I'm just incredibly grateful for everything he does behind the scenes. Baby Band wouldn't be Baby Band without him.

We are SO excited to officially welcome Meg to the Baby Band family as the proud new owner of Baby Band North East Leeds

Meg is another fabulous Baby Band parent turned franchisee, and honestly, we couldn’t be happier to have her joining our growing team. From sitting in classes with her little girl to now running her own Baby Band business.

A few words from Meg herself…

“Hi, I’m Meg! I’m a former primary school teacher, music theatre student and proud mum to my gorgeous girl, Ada.

I have always been surrounded by music, but when I’m not belting out entire musical soundtracks during car journeys, you’ll find me scouting out the best almond croissants and raiding the M&S snack aisle.

My journey with Baby Band started as a parent taking my little girl to classes. It quickly became the highlight of our week, and I am so incredibly excited to be bringing the joy that is Baby Band to North East Leeds! I can’t wait to see you and your little ones soon x”

I already know Meg is going to bring so much joy, warmth and magic to her families, and we cannot wait to build this amazing business alongside her
