PASSING YOUR DRIVING TEST
You wake up on the day of your test, usually with a little bit of panic and anxiety because the BIG DAY has arrived. The moment these feelings come rushing through your mind CONTROL them. Grab them and put them into a box in your room. Get out of bed and from that point onwards positive thinking. I AM going to pass my test and determination will get me through! A good breakfast to start the day and whatever else helps keep your mind occupied. Music, Youtube videos, meditation......whatever helps YOU!
NO negative thoughts beyond this point!
Ask yourself this.....can I take full control of a vehicle and drive it confidently on my own from one side of the county, to the other? Could I drive 25+ miles by following SAT NAV and sign posts?
Do I feel confident to keep within the speed limits and conscious of traffic all around me? Keeping within my lanes, whilst mullti tasking with regular mirror checks? Are my gears for the speed like clockwork and happen automatically whilst focussing on all hazards on the approach?
Am I expecting the unexpected? As the unexpected is likely to happen!! So, 'be on your game' as an incident COULD easily happen that hasn't happened previously on your lessons.
When carrying out any manoeuvre, can I glance at my angles and references whilst seeing everyone around me? Vehicles, pedestrians, that post directly behind me??
Now finally, the last thought before you leave the house and drive to the test centre, think about why you WANT TO PASS YOUR TEST? WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU......................?

Hi Guys,
We hope you and your family are well. We had hoped that the measures announced yesterday to ease the lockdown would allow us to restart driving lessons from the start of July. Unfortunately as we are still unable to meet the minimum 1m distancing and are within an enclosed space, even with the windows open, driving instruction is still considered high risk. Of course this is frustrating for us all, especially as you may see other people having lessons. Unless they are a critical key worker, the Department of Transport and the DVSA have said lessons should not take place. When we am able to restart lessons we will take precautions to keep everyone safe, including cleaning the car between lessons, a fresh seat cover each lesson and temperature checks. We will of course keep a close eye on changes to the guidelines to restart safely as soon as possible.
Thanks
Tony and Catherine
Borrowed from another ADI, but this applies to all of us right now.
Update on Driving Lessons.
I understand learner drivers are eager to restart lessons and I have been asked by a few of my pupils recently if they can restart lessons as they have seen other instructors giving lessons.
I can’t comment on what other instructors are doing and it could be that they are giving lessons to key workers who have an emergency test.
However, in order to protect the health and safety of myself, my family, pupils and their families I will continue to adhere to the official advice from both the Government and the DVSA.
This means that we will not restart lessons until we have official advice to do so and that it is safe for myself and pupils.
Being in such close proximity in an enclosed car puts lessons in a high risk category. This is why driving tests are also currently on hold.
I understand that the delay is frustrating and we will do all we can to get you onto the road as soon as it is safe to do so.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I'm here to help.
Thank you
Tony and Catherine
