Our Two’s Room is a vibrant and engaging space where busy, inquisitive, and enthusiastic toddlers aged 2-3 years thrive.

Our experienced team of six full-time staff are dedicated to supporting this important stage of development. They bring a wealth of knowledge and a specialised skill set, enabling them to guide each child with patience and enthusiasm.

The team fosters a love of learning by providing a wide variety of stimulating activities that ignite curiosity and encourage exploration. They understand that toddlers are like sponges, absorbing everything around them, which is why strong, positive role models are at the heart of everything they do.

Our Two's room team is made up of Debbie (Level 3), Emily (Level 5), Aaliyah (Level 3), Felicity (Level 2), Megan (Level 2) and Mollie (Apprentice).

We caught up with them to ask them some questions about all things Two's...

🔴 What is your favourite thing about working in the Two's room?

The Two’s Room is where many of our children begin to develop essential life skills, from toilet training and bursts of communication to confidently using cutlery. It’s a joy to watch their confidence grow and to see their unique personalities begin to shine.

🟡 What is the best part of the day?

Our Two’s enjoy free-flow play between the indoor and outdoor environments. As soon as the doors to the garden open after breakfast, there’s always a burst of excitement from the children, made even more special for everyone when the sun is shining.

🟣 Favourite Two's activity?

We love singing time with the children, our children are so expressive at the moment and have lots of passion and excitement for it.

🔵 Recent stand out moment?

We love going out into the community. It's become apparent how much the children love seeing animals on our adventures such as dogs and swans etc.

🔴 Favourite event of the year?

We love our Summer Fair.

🟢 Favourite Two's memory?

Our children's Christmas party is epic!

Patience, enthusiasm, empathy and abit of Aaliyah's singing!

Egg-citement was in the air last Thursday at our annual Family Easter Egg Hunt! 🥚🐰

Our children had the BEST time hunting for Easter eggs and celebrating each little find 🎉💛

👶 Role:
I’m a Level 3 Practitioner in the Two’s Room. I joined Stepping Stones in February 2019 as an apprentice, working towards my early years qualifications. I’ve had the chance to work across pre-school, the baby room, and now the Two’s Room-where I returned after having my daughter (who now attends the baby room too 💕).

💛 What I love most:
The toddler stage is incredible- children learn so much in such a short time! It’s amazing to watch their confidence and skills grow, and I love being part of such an important stage in their development.

🎶 Favourite activity:
Music and movement! Toddlers have so much energy, and it’s such a fun way to help them express themselves.

🥰 Sweetest moment:
“I miss you all day.” - moments like this make everything worthwhile.

🦸‍♀️ Nursery superpower:
Being able to change a nappy with just a click of my fingers!

🌈 Spare time:
I spend all my free time with my daughter-she definitely keeps me on my toes!

🐶 Fun fact:
I have a dog called Nova who I absolutely adore!

Mother's Day tea 🌸

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday for our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea.

It was wonderful to see so many mums, grandmas and special people come along to celebrate with the children.

We had an amazing turnout and such a lovely afternoon filled with special moments shared together. The children were so excited to spend the time celebrating the important people in their lives.

Happy World Book Day! ✨📚

Our nursery was full of amazing storybook characters today as the children and staff dressed up as their favourites! We’ve had a wonderful day sharing stories, using our imaginations and celebrating the joy of reading.

Celebrating Holi ✨🌈

Today we discovered the joy and colour of Holi – the Festival of Colours! 💛

Holi is a special celebration that marks the arrival of spring, bringing people together to share happiness, kindness and new beginnings. Inspired by this beautiful festival, our children explored bright colours through creative play, painting, and even dressed in bright colours for the occasion🎨🌸

We talked about friendship, celebrating different cultures, and how colours can represent joy, love and positivity. Watching the children explore and learn about traditions from around the world reminds us how important it is to nurture understanding and inclusivity from an early age. 🌍

Wear Red Day ❤️❣️

Today we are taking part in ‘Wear Red Day’ to show our support of congenital heart disease and Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

Wear Red Day is a fantastic annual event that generates vital, life-saving income for the charity to support the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, it’s patients and their families.

One of our Stepping Stones families have been immensely supported by the charity, and we jumped at the chance to get involved and give back.
