When I started Splat, my goal was never to run the biggest classes, it wasn't even about making as much money as I possibly could...
It was to create a place where children could learn through play, families could feel supported and everyone felt welcome.

These are the things I felt I had missed due to having two babies during lockdowns.

As a teacher, every tray, activity and craft is carefully planned to support children's development through purposeful play.

But some of the moments I'm most proud of happen beyond the messy trays.
💪🏽 A child finding the confidence to explore a texture they previously avoided.
🥰 A parent leaving class feeling less anxious and more confident.
🧑🏽‍❤️‍🧑🏻 Friendships forming between families who met at Splat.
🔎 Children growing from cautious observers into confident explorers.

These are the moments that matter!

This week we're celebrating all of the amazing Daddies, Grandads and father figures in our little ones' lives. 💙

We'll be creating special cards and keepsakes to treasure, alongside exploring a range of Father's Day themed messy play trays.

From tiny footprints to handmade creations, these are the moments that become treasured memories for years to come. 🥰

Development can look like making friends! 🧑🏽‍❤️‍🧑🏻

For many little ones, messy play classes are one of their first opportunities to share a space with other children, take turns, watch what others are doing and begin building those early social skills.

In this photo, nobody is being told how to play. There are no expectations and no pressure.

Instead, they're learning naturally through curiosity, observation and shared experience 🥰

✨ Watching another child explore something new.
✨ Sitting alongside friends.
✨ Learning that other people have ideas too.
✨ Building confidence in a safe and welcoming environment.

These early social interactions might look simple, but they're laying the foundations for friendships, communication, confidence and independence later on.

And whilst the children are making connections, many of the adults are too. ❤️

Because sometimes the village we need starts with a tray of feathers, a little curiosity and a room full of people who just get it.

Community has always been at the heart of Splat. Every week I see grandparents getting messy, crafting, exploring sensory trays and making precious memories alongside their grandchildren.

For some families, these classes are treasured one-to-one time. For others, they're an opportunity to become part of our village and build friendships that extend beyond the classroom.

Recently, I've been thinking about something that parents tell me all the time...

At Splat, I've watched friendships form between children and adults alike. I've seen parents supporting each other through sleepless nights, potty training, weaning worries, starting nursery and all the other ups and downs that come with raising little people.
