Sherburn Aero Club opened its doors in 1964 and went on to become one of the largest flying clubs in the North of England and also one of largest in the country. Based at Sherburn in Elmet Airfield in North Yorkshire we offer a full range of pilot training, trial flying lessons and flying gift vouchers as well as being a flying club for our members. We are open to the public and have a restaurant

and bar, with an outdoor area, ideal for a family day out. We welcome all to visit and enjoy the facilities we have to offer and watching the world of aviation up close. There an many exciting events throughout the year making us the perfect destination for members of the public, visiting pilots and our members.

Please be advised that Sherburn Aero Club and Digby’s Café will be closed to the public on Saturday, 25th July 2026, due to a private event.

* Digby’s Café will close to the public from 14:00.
* The Aerodrome will close for all flight operations from 17:00.

What an honour it was to see a flypast over the airfield this morning from this beautiful aircraft. Avro Anson MG120 (OO-ANS) is the last remaining airworthy wartime Avro Anson Mk I in the world.

Built right here in Yorkshire in 1943, it was fantastic to see her return home.

Experience Flight in a Genuine WWII Harvard Warbird from Sherburn Aero Club

Take to the skies in “Wacky Wabbit”, an authentic T-6 Harvard advanced trainer aircraft. The Harvard trained thousands of Allied pilots during the Second World War before they progressed to aircraft such as the Spitfire, Hurricane and Mustang.

Flights are operated by T6 Harvard Ltd and offer a unique opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and sensations of flying in one of aviation’s most iconic warbirds.
