We spent the last term of the school year focusing on the future, with exciting employer visits, alumni projects, and networking events opening doors in STEM for our leavers.
We canβt wait to see you back and welcome our new starters in September!
UTC Leeds
STEM-focused, academic and technical learning. Proud to be part of the Resilience Multi Academy Trust.
Employer partnerships help bring STEM subjects to life.
Seeing industry in action allows us to connect classroom learning with the realities of the workplace. From teamwork and precision to quality control and problem-solving, these experiences help us build authentic examples into teaching and learning.
During our Interview Day, employers saw first-hand the ambition and commitment our students bring to their future careers.
UTC Leeds students stand out because they know where they want to go. They're choosing pathways that match their interests, developing industry-relevant skills, and gaining experiences that help them take the next step with confidence.

π Gorse Shakespeare Festival 2026 π
We are immensely proud of our Year 10 and Year 12 students for delivering a superb performance at the Gorse Shakespeare Festival last night.
From actors and set designers to lighting technicians and backstage crew, our students played an instrumental role in bringing The Tempest to life. And don't forget, we made our very own boat!
Their commitment, creativity and teamwork were evident throughout the performance.
What makes their achievement even more impressive is that they had just 10 hours of preparation and rehearsal time. Over the past few weeks, they have shown incredible resilience, dedication and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones to take on new challenges.
The confidence, professionalism and determination on display were a credit to both themselves and UTC Leeds.
A huge thank you to The Ruth Gorse Academy and our director for their support, guidance and encouragement throughout the project. Opportunities like these allow our students to develop valuable skills, build confidence and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Well done to everyone involved. We couldn't be prouder! ππ

Not all engineering careers look the same!
Our visit to Faculative Technologues gave students an insight into a unique and highly specialised manufacturing business. Students learned about the design and production processes behind bespoke products used within crematoriums and memorial facilities, and discovered how engineering, problem-solving, and craftsmanship come together to meet the needs of clients.
Thank you to the team for providing such an informative visit and helping our students explore career opportunities they may not have previously considered.

π Team Geography Take to the Coast! π
What a day for it! βοΈ
Our Geography students have been out on the coast this week, developing the fieldwork skills they'll need for their Year 11 Coursework.
Students practised a range of geographical investigation techniques, including using transect lines to measure changes across the beach, collecting and recording data, conducting observations, taking measurements and analysing coastal processes in action.
Experiences like these help students develop vital skills in data collection, interpretation, analysis and evaluation β all of which will be invaluable when completing their NEA next year.
A fantastic day of learning outside the classroom, bringing geography to life and making the most of the sunshine! πππ

Our students had a fantastic visit to MPM, where they got to see how GRP products are manufactured and learn about the processes behind them.
One of the highlights of the day was hearing from UTC Leeds alumni, who are now working in the industry, as they shared their experiences and explained some of the manufacturing processes. Seeing former students thriving in their careers was truly inspiring!
Thank you to everyone at MPM for opening your doors and providing such an engaging and informative experience.
When students understand where learning can lead, lessons become more meaningful.
Our visit to Harrison Spinks provided valuable insight into manufacturing, quality control, materials science and product development. These experiences help us strengthen curriculum delivery and demonstrate how STEM learning is applied in industry every day.
