The last couple of weeks the doctors kit was used every day and hardly anything else was touched. Put that away this week. This week the duplo bricks seem to be the favourite.
Duplo bricks support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework by promoting hands-on, open-ended learning across multiple areas of development.
Key EYFS Areas Supported by Duplo
🔸️Physical Development: Snapping and pulling large blocks apart strengthens children's fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and finger dexterity.
🔸️Expressive Arts and Design: Open-ended construction lets children imagine and build structures, vehicles, or abstract shapes freely.
🔸️Mathematics: Number-learning bricks (like 1 to 5), sorting by color, and counting blocks introduce early counting, size comparison, and spatial awareness.
🔸️Communication and Language: Collaborative building encourages children to talk about their creations, share ideas, and build descriptive vocabulary with peers and adults.
🔸️Personal, Social, and Emotional Development: Building together teaches sharing, patience, and cooperative play while giving a sense of accomplishment.
