Getting very excited for our graduation ceremony on Thursday! Can't wait to see pupils from Carr Manor, Parklands, St Philip's and Sacred Heart primary schools in Leeds pick up their certificates!

Here’s the album of photographs from our Super Saturday at West Yorkshire Playhouse. Children and Adults alike were effusive in their praise for the quality of the learning activities. Children’s comments included:
• “I have enjoyed every last minute and I enjoyed all of it”
• “I thought the tour was very interesting and it made me want to see more plays”
• “I loved it”
• “It was great because we got to dress up as Shakespeare’s characters”
• “It was the best day ever”
Comments from school staff included:
• “Fantastic Tour, pitched at the right level”
• “Really incredible. Such an accessible way into Shakespeare which I shall take back to school”
• “Well organised, brilliant activities”

We had a fantastic event at West Yorkshire Playhouse on Saturday. 40 CU members, from six of our schools, enjoyed a tour of the theatre and took part in a Drama Workshop where they brought Shakespearian characters to life. It was a privilege to be at WYP on the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. Massive thanks to Aiobheann, Elvie, Robert and Josephine for a fantastic 'Super Saturday'. Another school confirmed this week they wish to join Leeds Children's University. That's 18 and counting.

We are delighted to announce that Leeds College of Music has been validated as a Children's University Learning Destination. They have lots of courses for young musicians and, later this year, we plan to run an event together at the College.

Another Learning Destination to announce. The Tetley is a new centre for contemporary art and learning located in the stunning art deco headquarters of the former Tetley Brewery in central Leeds. Have a look at the Family Art Workshops they run on Saturdays and in the school holidays.

When we began in November 2014 we had five schools. We have now grown to 17 and two of our new schools - Dixons Marchbank Primary in Bradford and Carr Manor Primary in Leeds - held launch events in the week before Easter. In the same week, we met with two more schools interested in joining and we will be meeting with a third later this month.

Harrogate Climbing Centre is now an official Learning Destination. Their facilities are amazing and we hope to run a special Leeds CU event there later in the year.

Another great new Learning Destination is TAGS Education. This is run by our friend, Stephen Lamb who has delivered inspirational sessions at two of our recent 'Super Saturdays'. One of our members said "I think I have found my talent - it was awesome" and another told us "I already love art, but this was the best art ever".
