Big coats, snowsuits and other bulky clothing feel warm and comforting when the cold weather creeps in, but they can be dangerous for your child in the car.
In a crash, those bulky layers compress under the force of the impact, creating slack in the harness or seatbelt. This reduces the effectiveness of the harness and increases the risk of serious injury.

A trip to Fairytale wood, near Great Preston Village Hall, to explore our local environment.
We were really excited to find fairy doors and fairy houses, we can’t wait to go and explore again very soon.

At Brght Sparks we love to go on adventures, we walked to the park in Great Preston on a rainy Friday afternoon, we had lots of fun on the way jumping in muddy puddles.
We developed our gross motor skills by walking, running, jumping and climbing.
We developed our friendships by holding a friend’s hand to walk to the park, pushing them on the round about and swings, and playing on the sea saw with them.
What a great experience we had.😊

Button batteries can badly hurt or kill a small child if they swallow one and it gets stuck in their food pipe.
Typically, small children:
• find batteries that have dropped out of products with loose backs
• find spare batteries in a drawer or on the floor after a packet spills open
• get hold of ‘flat’ batteries left on a worktop or table or stored for recycling.
But with a few simple checks you can keep your children safe.

Happy Pancake Day! Today can be great fun for all the family but please keep safety in mind.
According to NHS officials, the demand for advice on burns and scalds rises dramatically on pancake day. So please remember:
• Keep pans out of reach of little hands by turning pan handles away from the edge of the counter and using the back rings of the hob
• Don’t leave your cooking unattended
• Keep small children away from the cooking area
• In the event of a burn injury, remember COOL, CALL, COVER. COOL the burn for 20 minutes under cool running water. CALL for help. COVER the burn loosely with cling film.
