Visit https://www.transum.org/software/River_Crossing/Level1.asp to solve this classic maths problem. Try it online.
Alternatively, recreate the problem and solution yourselves. Use toy model animals or draw/cut out your own. Don’t forget to create a person and some carrots somehow! Use a plastic saucer in a washing up bowl or have a go at making your own paper boat. Youngsters will enjoy solving the problem practically especially if they can do this outside (depending on the weather of course). Once the problem gets solved try level 2.

Yipee! Most primary and secondary school students in Yorkshire will officially break up for the summer on Tuesday (if they haven't done so already). University students have been off for a while. What a busy summer term it’s been?! Students have worked hard and made brilliant progress this year. It's been a pleasure. Well done!⭐️

Course Details:
The course is for adults learning English as a Foreign/Second Language. Basically non-native English speakers.

It is aimed at:
*Professionals working in the private and public sector.
*Locals (who do not speak English as their first language) within the Kirkstall/Horsforth/Kirkstall Forge area are welcome to attend.
*Spouses/family members of professionals.
*People who have come to Leeds on holiday.
🚉Please note, Kirkstall Forge has its own train station and there are plenty car parking spaces 🚗.

Light refreshments ☕️🧁will also be provided by Butler's Cafe!

The language range is intermediate level English. ‘Independent level B1 and B2’. Students should be able to speak in sentences already but would like to extend their vocabulary/communicate in a range of settings/give reasons/explanations/opinions in conversation.
