We have carried on our work marking Refugee Week by reading some beautiful stories about people who have had to flee their homes.
It was lovely to hear teachers talking after school about how reading these stories had encouraged some of our children to share their own stories - apparently you could hear a pin drop as children realised that the people in these stories were all around them…
Living out our Vision and Values everyday - extending a hand of welcome to all who need us.

Lovely families we are desperately in search of buckets and spades that our Year 2 children can take to Filey for their trip to the seaside! If anyone has anything they can donate, please drop off at the office or to the Year 2 staff. I just know our amazing community will get behind us and make sure the children have a trip to remember. Thank you!

We did workshops last week at school to teach our pupils all about being safe in and around water.
Tomorrow marks the first day of our Drowning Prevention Lessons and with over 25,000 children taking part in a host of activities within their school or learn to swim lesson, it's bound to be a busy week of learning!
As part of a national campaign to raise awareness for water safety, and to practise water safety skills, children in swimming lessons will need a clean t-shirt and a pair of shorts/pyjama bottoms (please note onesies are not suitable for this activity) for your child to wear over their swimwear during the lesson. Practicing survival skills while weighed down by wet clothes is one of the most valuable experiences a young swimmer can have. Adult & Baby/toddler lessons will take part in activities but don't need additional clothing.
✨ Get involved in our fun Colouring Competition! We have prizes up for grabs across all our leisure centres. Pick up a colouring sheet next time you’re at the centre or download it here 👉 https://monkeylink.co/90031c
Don’t forget to bring in your child’s completed entry by Sunday 21 June, we’ll be choosing our winners shortly after! 🏆💛 Pop your child's full name and contact number on the reverse!

We launched Refugee Week today with a whole school collective worship to listen to the stories of refugees who have fled conflict to come and find safety in the UK. We also talked about the migration patterns of animals and in particular the swifts who we are supporting with our lovely swift boxes in ks1 and ks2. If you walk past you may also hear the lovely swift calls we are playing to direct the birds to their new nesting sites!

Mrs Hopkinson got some super letters from Year 1 today, asking for compost, seeds and flowers to make our school a better habitat for pollinators and other animals. It seems Green Week has got them all excited about
