We are excited to share that we’ve been working towards our Sunsafe accreditation with Skcin.
At The Railway Children Hawksworth outdoor learning is at the heart of what we do. We’re outside in every season and all kinds of weather, exploring, discovering and growing.
Keeping children safe in the sun is a vital part of that journey, and we’re proud to be strengthening our practice to ensure every child can enjoy the outdoors safely and confidently. ☀️

In April we celebrated Louise on her 8 years service and Nicci for her 5 years service to The Railway Children Hawksworth and The Railway Children, Menston.
We also said a big thank you to you our Hero of the Month, Peter.
From fixing the unfixable to keeping everything running smoothly, Peter is the handyman who saves the day time and time again. We’re grateful for all the hard work and heart he puts into what he does.
Thank you to all! 👏

Today our Children at The Railway Children Hawksworth learned all about Passover.
One of our parents, Naomi, joined us to read a story and explain the meaning behind the holiday - including why people don’t eat bread during this time and choose matzah instead.
The children were engaged, showed curiosity and were eager to learn.
Thank you Naomi for coming in this morning. 😀

This week at The Railway Children Hawksworth the children have been busy making their very own hummus for snack time. They chopped, measured, squeezed, blended and the results were delicious.
Through this simple recipe, the children explored a whole range of Early Years Foundation Stage learning
- Physical development
- Mathematics
- Communication and Language
- Understanding the World
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
It’s amazing how much learning can happen in one little bowl of hummus.
