Red fire enjoyed a music session together this afternoon. We sat in a big cirlcle, chose our own instruments and sang our favourite songs! One pupil loved the sound of the drum - we sang β€œIf you're happy and you know it” and he laughed every time Gemma tapped the drum during the song!

EASTER BONNET PARADE

On Friday, pupils and staff took part in our annual Easter Bonnet Parade! Every year we combine our Easter Celebrations with Wear a Hat Day which raises awareness and fundraises for Brain Tumour Research.

The day was made extra memorable for the pupils by the Easter Bunny visiting the school, delivering East Eggs and furry bunny ears.

We hope our pupils and their families all have a wonderful Easter break 🐰🐀🌷🍫

WORLD BOOK DAY 2026

We celebrated World Book Day as a whole school, kicking the day off with our Reading Breakfast! We invited parents into school to share a sensory story of the Gruffalo, alongside Story Massage. Story massage uses rhythmic touch to bring narratives to life, helping pupils with PMLD develop early reading skills by building anticipation, sequencing awareness, and a physical connection to language.

RAINBOW CLASS

Rainbows took their learning outside this morning for Maths. Whilst some of us were identifying Numicon in the sand, some were practising their addition skills with natural objects and the rest of us were subitising in the sun!

Pupils at Penny Field have been very fortunate to explore some new music equipment called DIGIT. DIGIT is an SEN adapted tool for musicians, composers and learners, allowing pupils to overcome their physical limitations and get creative! Our pupils each had the opportunity to use instruments with joysticks or iPads, coming together to form a band!
What an experience it was!

PUDDLES CLASS

To celebrate St Patrick's Day, Puddles Class have enjoyed a sensory story this morning called "The lucky leprechaun". In the story they explored a big green hat; some leaves and sparkly clovers that we had made in art; shaking the golden coins; exploring the rainbow colours of the parachute and finished off with dancing to an Irish jig! The pupils had lots of wonderful responses.

Well done Puddles Class and Happy St Patrick's Day!

YELLOW SUNSHINE

Yellow Class had a fabulous time this morning with our visitors from the Royal Navy. They made some flares and watched them fly into space with a special machine, one even landed on the roof!

A big thank you to the team at the Royal Navy Youth Engagement Team!
