The great outdoors at Three Bears!
We are a family run private day nursery set in far Headingley in North Leeds.
The nursery was first established in 2005 and has since grown to the 50 place nursery we are today, for children from 3 months to 4 years.

Festive fun! 🎄
Baby bears have welcomed winter and Christmas into play to welcome December! They have absolutely loved listening and reading some Christmas stories, participating in music and movement with some Christmas songs and taking part in our story advent calendar.
We have also explored some ice sensory play, made their own Christmas tree and made our own snow outdoors. The babies have really shown their cursiosity, imagination and lots of awe and wonder! We can’t wait to celebrate and learn more this month! ❤️

Christmas Appeal for Changing Stars Malawi Bears 🎄
The stars have arrived at nursery! Donate via the link below, bring a cash donation to nursery or scan the QR code at nursery to pick up yours. Minimum donation £6. You (And your little one!) can then pick your unique star to take home!
Just giving link to donate - https://www.justgiving.com/page/three-bears-leeds-6?utm_medium=FA&utm_source=CL
What's so special about the stars this year?
- They are handmade at the community hub in Cape Maclear in Malawi, each one supporting local families in the village,
- The hub's new team of sewers earned their first income by making these stars and so it's the charity's way of giving back to the women who trusted them with their first sewing project,
- Each star is made from Chitenji, the bright, bold fabric woven into everyday life in Malawi. It represents strength, community and culture,
- The star, just like your generosity in donating, will last on your tree or in your home year after year!
Donation options:
- £6 could buy a school girl sanitary pack to avoid a young girl missing school because of her period,
- £10 could cover 5 curriculum books for primary aged children,
- £20 could buy a meal and a snack per day for 6 nursery children for a month,
- £25 could sponsor a child to attend nursery for a whole year,
- £35 could buy a bag of maize to feed a vulnerable family for a month
- £65 could buy a school desk with chairs for 2 children,
- £100 could sponsor a child to attend primary school for a whole year.

We are learning about our wider world through our advent calendar at nursery this month and today we had ✨ Day 3 – Iris Apfel, the First Lady of Fabric ✨
Today in our Little People, Big Dreams advent calendar, we met the incredible Iris Apfel — the style icon who lived to be 102 and became known as the “First Lady of Fabric.”
Iris was famous for her bold colours, big round glasses, and her belief that fashion should be fun, creative, and completely you. She loved mixing patterns, textures, and fabrics to create looks no one had ever seen before!
Inspired by Iris, the children spent today designing their own outfits, choosing from lots of different materials, colours, and patterns. Their imaginations were bursting with ideas, and they created some truly fabulous pieces.
We can’t wait to show off their wonderful designs in our very own mini fashion show! 👗🎨✨

“The art of being silly with it”
“The children feel free to contribute and use their imaginations, their creativity is valued”
“It’s helped me to bring my own imagination and childhood to life, to have fun!”
We had an amazing day, bringing stories to life, learning lots and having fun!
Can you guess which story we were representing with our propts?📚🐻✨

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
This morning we tried our fruit smoothie bowls and homemade granola. It was delicious.
🫐🍌🍒

In Big Bears this afternoon some of the children are helping Jj to make the granola for our breakfast smoothie bowls tomorrow morning. 🫐🍌🥣
They are combining branflakes, oats, dried fruits, a dash of vanilla, a dash of maple syrup to make it stick and the zest of oranges, ready to toast in the oven and add to our granola jar. In the morning we’ll then freshly make our smoothie component using frozen blueberries, frozen raspberries, frozen spinach, banana, yogurt and milk.
