Big congratulations to West Yorkshire Police Crime Prevention Officers!
KABSEC Training is really pleased to share that four Crime Prevention Officers from West Yorkshire Police have successfully achieved the Level 4 Certificate in Crime Prevention for Practitioners.
This is a great achievement and reflects a lot of hard work alongside busy operational roles. The officers have been able to use their extensive experience in the Crime Prevention role to support their portfolio of evidence to achieve the qualification.
Crime prevention is a cornerstone of modern policing. As demand on policing continues to evolve, the role of Crime Prevention Officers has never been more important. By completing this qualification, these officers have further enhanced their ability to:
· Assess crime risks using structured and evidence-based approaches
· Deliver effective situational crime prevention measures
· Work collaboratively with local authorities, businesses, housing providers, and community partners
· Support victims and prevent repeat victimisation
· Contribute to safer neighbourhoods and long-term community resilience
The learning gained through the Level 4 Certificate directly supports operational policing priorities and reinforces West Yorkshire Police’s commitment to prevention, problem solving, and early intervention.
KABSEC Training has strong links to West Yorkshire Police, being our local police service and with our core staff having current and previous roles with them.
A brilliant example of commitment to learning, professionalism, and making a real difference in keeping people safe. Well done to you all – a fantastic achievement!

No single organisation can solve community problems alone.
Yet many of the challenges facing our communities — crime, anti-social behaviour, vulnerability and safeguarding — require exactly that level of collaboration.
The answer is multi-agency problem solving.
When organisations work together, the benefits are clear:
▪️A deeper understanding of local issues
▪️Better coordinated responses
▪️More effective use of limited resources
▪️Improved safeguarding and community safety
▪️Long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes
Last week KABSEC Training delivered a 2-day Problem Solving course in Bexley, hosted at Club Thamesmead, a fantastic community facility supporting partnership work in the area.
The training brought together 10 delegates from key partner organisations, including colleagues from Police, Borough of Bexley, Fire Brigade, and .
Bringing partners together in the same room creates real value.
Each organisation sees community problems from a slightly different perspective.
When those perspectives come together, the result is better analysis, stronger partnerships and more effective long-term solutions.
Training like this isn't just about theory — it's about building relationships, sharing knowledge and strengthening the partnerships needed to tackle complex local problems.
Across the two days, delegates explored structured approaches and applied them to real issues affecting local communities, turning learning into practical action.
Because safer communities are built through partnership, collaboration and shared problem solving.
If your organisation is interested in developing structured problem solving and stronger multi-agency partnerships, KABSEC Training would be delighted to support your teams.

KABSEC Training Delivers Two-Day Advanced Problem Solving Course in Bexley
On Monday 2nd February, KABSEC Training travelled to Bexley Civic Offices to deliver another successful two-day Problem Solving Course, supporting partners working at the forefront of community safety.
The course brought together a multi-agency group, including:
• 8 Metropolitan Police Officers from local Neighbourhood Teams
• 4 staff from Housing Associations
• 2 Local Authority professionals
• 1 Officer from Fire & Rescue’s Arson Reduction Team
Day one focused on problem solving theory, introducing and exploring the SARA model (Scanning, Analysis, Response, Assessment) alongside an examination of why crime and anti-social behaviour occur. This provided delegates with a structured, evidence-based framework to approach complex and recurring problems.
Day two shifted into practical, real-world application, with delegates working through live-style scenarios including:
• A residential area and town centre experiencing ongoing anti-social behaviour
• A new build housing estate facing challenges linked to the misuse of a large open public space
These exercises encouraged collaborative thinking, partnership working and creative problem solving, mirroring the realities faced by practitioners on the ground.
🤝 Looking ahead, KABSEC Training will be working closely with Bexley Council to develop a bespoke problem solving template. This will provide a consistent and practical tool that officers and partners can apply to future projects, embedding structured problem solving across the borough.
👏 A huge thanks to all delegates for their engagement and professionalism throughout the two days — a great example of partnership working in action.

Strengthening UK and Overseas Security Capabilities: Our Level 4 Crime Prevention Course at St Omer Barracks, Aldershot
KABSEC Training was proud to be back working alongside the Royal Military Police (RMP), at the historic St Omer Barracks in Aldershot, delivering the Level 4 Certificate in Crime Prevention for Practitioners.
This was a highly engaging and productive two-week programme. Participants — drawn from RMP units across the UK and internationally — demonstrated outstanding commitment, professionalism, and a strong appetite for enhancing their operational impact through improved crime prevention skills.
Throughout the first week, learners:
✅ Explored core principles of crime prevention and problem-solving methodology
✅ Examined environmental design and situational crime reduction strategies
✅ Engaged in practical case-study tasks grounded in real policing scenarios
✅ Shared experiences from a diverse range of deployments and operational environments
Their ability to translate theory into clear, actionable solutions was particularly impressive. The collaborative sessions have sparked innovative thinking, with attendees actively developing proposals to improve security outcomes within their respective areas of responsibility.
In the second week, the focus shifted toward:
🔹 Specialist crime-prevention applications
🔹 Risk-based assessments and security surveys
🔹 Presentation and communication of professional recommendations
The energy across the group was fantastic — a testament not only to the professionalism of the RMP but also their collective drive to remain at the forefront of modern policing standards.

It is a privilege to play a part in strengthening the skills and resilience of those who safeguard our assets, communities, and Armed Forces personnel.
We celebrate the cohort’s achievements — and look forward to seeing these new skills put into action wherever their roles take them next.
