Welcome back everyone! We look forward to welcoming our students back to school next week. Year 7 and Year 11 will return on Monday, with Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 returning on Tuesday. Students are expected to arrive at 8:20am on their allocated day.

On their first day back, all students will be issued with a new traditional school tie, which requires manual tying. Please see the attached guide for instructions on how to tie the new school tie.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back and wish all our students a successful new school year.

This week we took 30 Year 7 and 9 students to Bewerley park, a 3 day residential activity trip in the countryside. Students took part in a variety of activities including Kayaking, Climbing, Bushcraft and High Ropes. Well done to all students involved for their resilience in tackling these tough challenges, and for the members of staff involved for their dedication to our students!

Recently we celebrated our Corpus Christi Feast Day. Students from Years 7 and 8 joined parishioners from Corpus Christi Church and the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal for a beautiful mass celebrated by Fr. Rino. Our celebration as the Body of Christ continued with a brief Eucharistic procession (due to the extreme heat!) and moving service of Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction with Students from all year groups in college gathered in our college hall. Thank you to all who made this a memorable morning of respectful reflection on the importance of Christ at the centre of our college life.

On the 19th of June we hosted our annual sports day at John Charles Centre for sport. Lots of long standing athletics school records were broken, and students took in competing and representing their forms. There were track relay events alongside field events, overall including form relay, 800m and tug of war. We would like to congratulate every student who attended the day for supporting each other in such a respectful and considerate manner. Well done to all the students who also took part in any event, we are proud of your resilience and determination.

This month, 27 Year 10 students completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition. They walked 20 kilometres over two days, carried all their equipment and enjoyed a night of camping, with all groups successfully passing the expedition section of their award!

On Tuesday evening, a group of our Corpus athletes took part in the annual athletics meet at John Charles Centre for Sport. All athletes competed to a very high standard, demonstrating determination, resilience, teamwork, and excellent sportsmanship throughout the event. The Year 9 and 10 girls represented school brilliantly in their rugby final at AMT Headingley Stadium. They played an outstanding game in a closely contested match, showing great determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout. Although they narrowly missed out on the win, they should be incredibly proud of their performance. The girls were fantastic Corpus ambassadors, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and representing the school with pride.

Our Year 9 & 10 rugby team won their tournament with flying colours after impressive victories over strong opponents, Trinity and Abbey Grange. The girls showed outstanding teamwork, determination, skill and Corpus Spirit throughout the competition. They now go on to play in the final at AMT Headingly Stadium.
