Following the news that Beechtree Steiner Initiative had to close at the end of the Spring Term this past April 1st 2022, we can confirm that there remains a Steiner presence in Leeds, in the form of the Parent/Caregiver and Child Group offering. Former Beechtree colleagues Sarah Nancy Baxter and Victoria Smith are continuing the Parent/Caregiver and Child Groups they ran at Beechtree at various locations in and around Leeds. Please take a look at Willow Tree - Baby Group, and Parent and Child and Linden Tree - Parent/Caregiver and Child Group 0-3yrs, where more information can be found.

The Current Families of Beechtree are inviting families and friends from the Beechtree community to come to their farewell fair on Saturday March 26th, 11-4pm, and are requesting, if you can, that you lend a hand on the day.
The parents organising the fair say: βPlease volunteer your help if you can - half an hour at the sink or supervising an activity or sitting on the welcome desk would all be really helpful and enable parents of the current Beechtree cohort to have time to enjoy the fair we have organised!β
βWe will not be charging entry and we would appreciate your help.β
Please bring food and/or cake to share (with a full ingredients label and prepared in line with the requirements of our setting: food must be vegetarian, and free of both egg and nuts/nut milks etc).

It is with regret that the board of trustees at Beechtree have to announce to our friends that the setting will be closing at the end of the Easter term. All involved at Beechtree are saddened by this news and we would like to thank you all for your support over the last twenty years. Sending love and solidarity to families in our Beechtree community, to our colleagues and families in Steiner Schools and all those directly affected and impacted by the current conflict in Ukraine and Russia.

How do you like your cuppa? Let us look after you - part of our Parent/Caregiver and Child offering is to care for the carer.
Come to Group and tell us how you like your drink: finding out your preferred strength and amount of milk (organic and local from Acorn Dairy or one of our plant-based options) is important to us.
We have everyday tea, cafetière coffee, decaf options and a range of herbal and fruity teas on offer. All are organic and most are fair trade.
We have Indoor Groups running on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings 10am-12noon. The Friday Group is new, and will be launching with a free taster session after half term - email Sarah via [email protected] to register your interest.
We also have a Baby Group on Tuesday mornings and an Outdoor Group on Friday mornings. Please see our website http://www.leeds-steiner.org.uk/parent-and-child/ for further information and an application form

βBlow, wind, blow!β (Although maybe not quite so hard today, please Brother Wind!)
Victoria and Hugh are ready to welcome our Outdoor Parent/Caregiver and Child Group families to the garden today. (We can move indoors if it gets too windy!)
βBlow, wind, blow, And go, mill go!
So the miller may grind the corn;
So the baker may take it and into bread make it;
And bring us a loaf in the morn!β We make flatbreads together every week in our Outdoor Group. They are cooked on an open fire and given out at story time. We have spaces in our term-time Outdoor and Indoor Parent/Caregiver and Child Groups, which are suitable for children from birth to three years old.
