New Leeds City Council Greek Street cafe plans... ☕
Leeds City Council have new plans to increase the appeal and attractiveness of Greek Street in Leeds. The plans include widening the central walkway and adding barriers so that existing businesses can provide outdoor seating and these plans have already been approved by planners in the city. 🌆

Leeds school uses 3D printers to create PPE for the NHS
In the last two weeks, over 395 million pieces of PPE has been delivered to NHS trusts, GP surgeries and pharmacies. The Grammar School at Leeds, have been using 3D printers to create PPE and they have already produced over 130 visors for the NHS!

Army helicopters land at Leeds General Infirmary... 🏥
In response of COVID-19, army helicopters have been landing at Leeds General Infirmary to deliver key personnel to help support the NHS. The aircraft are being used to evacuate critically ill patients as well as moving equipment and medical personnel around the country. 💉👩⚕️

The new Leeds M1 Skelton Lake £64m service station project opens in middle of coronavirus crisis... 🦠
The new Skelton Lake service station is located at junction 45 of the M1, around 2 miles from Leeds City Centre. Due to the government guidelines for COVID-19, only the Texaco petrol station and combined Spar shop is now open. ⛽

New £350 million plans for Leeds City Centre development... 💸
Globe point will be the first flat iron building to be built in Leeds City Centre since 1875. The new building will have seven floors with office space, break out space, retail and leisure. 🏢🛍️

Thousands across Leeds held a huge round of applause for the NHS! 🚑🏥
At 8pm yesterday night, thousands of people across Leeds joined together to clap to say thank you to the frontline NHS heroes battling the coronavirus. Leeds Town Hall and Leeds Corn Exchange also lit up blue in honour of the NHS.

All activities and events cancelled at Leeds parks 🌳
Leeds City Council have taken the decision to cancel all activities and events in Leeds parks to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Leeds parks currently remain open for people to use for exercise, with visitors asked to follow the governments social distancing measures. 🏃♀️

As of last night, the UK has gone into lockdown due to COVID-19. Boris Johnson announced this as an effort to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus, giving limited reasons why you should leave your home. 🏡

The Hunslet Crown Pub that closed down 30 years ago could return as a new restaurant... 🍽️
The Crown pub in Hunslet could be revived as part of the new city centre park in Leeds. The pub originally opened in the late 1800’s and is planned to be brought back in use as a pub and restaurant with a new extension and offices. 🏢
The regeneration of the Crown pub will be part of the Aire park which is set to cover an area between Holbeck and the old Tetley Brewery site. The Aire Park is currently in planning stages, however a decision on the proposals will be decided in the coming weeks.

The government have announced that from Friday, schools across the UK will close. Online resources have been set up to help continue learning as there is no date set for when schools are going to reopen. 📚🚌

Leeds City Centre left deserted as people take government advice to stay at home. 🌇
Due to the rise in UK coronavirus cases, the governments advice to try stay out of offices and not to attend social gatherings has been taken very seriously. Busy commuter hubs are now practically empty and shopping centres have been left deserted... 🛍️
