I’ve audited a few Instagram accounts this week and found the same thing every time.🫠

The people I looked at were good at what they do. Their work was fantastic, their clients were getting great results and there was absolutely no issue with the service they were providing.

The problem was that their Instagram wasn’t showing potential clients why they should choose them.

A lot of the content focused on the hair itself. The method, the length, the colour and the transformation. Whilst that’s important, it’s not usually the thing that makes somebody enquire.

What I wasn’t seeing enough of was storytelling, solution-based content, objection handling and personal branding.

I wasn’t seeing content that spoke directly to the person sitting at home struggling with their hair. I wasn’t seeing content answering the questions people ask before they enquire. And I wasn’t seeing much content that helped me get to know the person behind the business.

The truth is, people don’t just buy hair extensions.

They buy confidence.

They buy trust.

They buy the outcome.

And they buy people.

Being good at what you do isn’t enough if people don’t see it, remember it or understand why they should choose you over somebody else.

The stylists who become the go-to specialist in their area aren’t always the ones with the most qualifications or the most experience.

They’re often the ones who have learnt how to communicate their value, build trust and become visible online.
