Round up of some tutoring pics and little free library finds from the first month of January 2026.
LOADS of maths from KS1 to GCSE plus a little bit of Spanish and creative writing to keep my language cup filled.
A reminder that I am currently teaching part time which means I have very limited availability until April so do drop me a message if you want to secure a tutoring spot ๐๐งฎ๐ช๐ธ๐ฐ

This week has been so maths heavy supporting students from Year 2 all the way up to GCSE that I was delighted to meet Isla to see how I could help her achieve a pass in her History GCSE.
We discussed what she already knew about WW1, medicine through the ages and the American West before looking at a couple of exam questions together to see how we could pick up the extra marks she needs for a grade 4. We evaluated historical sources and looked at some photos from Morley archives to see what our streets looked like a hundred years ago.
Isla will be doing some revision of key dates and events on her own but, as a tutor, it's my job to teach her how to identify themes across topics and analyse sources to gain new information. I'm really excited to see her confidence grow as she achieves the mark she deserves this summer.
If you're looking for support with History, English or Spanish at GCSE or A Level, drop me a message to find out more!
I can also support with maths from primary teaching up to the foundation paper at GCSE but I have very limited availability left for new maths students.

Thursday morning off work calls for a trip to Newlands Foodbank to drop off some recently out of date food leftover from Christmas.
Whilst it's only 3 items, literally every single thing makes a huge difference to the community as if you add some bread to this picture (which we always have at ) you've got a meal for two! If you're local to Morley please do consider dropping some things off to help local families in need! You can also message me or the page about collecting large donations.
If you've read this far, please swipe right to enjoy Arnie eating a biscuit from his fave pet shop in Morley .bakehouse

First day back tutoring today meant I was promoted to bingo caller for E's maths revision session.
63 tickle me had to be screenshotted ๐ธ๐
I'm also slightly obsessed with the magnetic fraction chart that E's mum bought her to consolidate her knowledge of equivalent fractions. Added to my wish list for the long-awaited January payday ๐ค๐ฐ๐ท

Started 2026 surrounded by the best โค๏ธ๐๐ฅฐ
So many unnecessary props but a wonderful day and night with my nearest and dearest.
Huge thanks to the team at for having us and, of course, for smashing out yet another cake.

Easing myself back into work with a few emails and lesson plans for January.
However I still have leftover chicken and turkey and will be eating cake and buns until at least 2028. Also really missing my cheeky elf, we got up to all sorts last week including being elf-napped on Christmas Eve! ๐ง๐งโโ๏ธ๐ฐ
Hope everyone had a lovely bank holiday, however or whatever they celebrated ๐๐คถ

2025: The Year of the Self-Employed
In September, I met whilst getting my coffee fix at Chai and Coco. I didn't know that only 4 months later I'd have an amazing dog sitter/walker AND a friend.
I am a very high maintenance dog parent and Chloe has met all my demands and then some. Arnie is absolutely besotted with her, especially after he got his presents yesterday ๐
Merry Christmas Pal๐๐โ๏ธ๐งโ๐๐

Arnie and I did our good Christmas deed by dropping off some leftover goodies in ๐งโ๐๐ถ๐ฌ๐ญ
Then we stopped off at for a brew and Elfie made us a brew for our walk โ๏ธ๐ฅฐ๐
If you're in Morley this weekend, do look out for sweet treats and Christmas decorations. Happy Reading ๐

Ten years ago I survived my first term as a qualified teacher. Rightly so, I told my personal Facebook about it...
This year I returned to the classroom (for Christmas, not for life I assure you) and I feel humbled. Today I received gifts, cards and homemade wonders from children and families who have known me less than a month.
What a privilege to step into a classroom and motivate, inspire and lead a team of mini legends. Teaching is bloody hard (that's why I don't do it full time anymore), the pay is crap and the holidays aren't what most people think. But some days, it's bloody magical.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night ๐๐งโ๐
