So how do our LAU Communities work? ⁉️

Here at Leeds Arts Union we want to give you opportunities to meet new people at the University outside of your course areas. Unlike our LAU Societies, our LAU Communities are not run by a student leader but instead work as drop-in style events in an open space.

There is no need to sign up via the website as they work as open events.

Introducing you to Leeds Arts Union Exhibitions & Events! 🖼️

Here at Leeds Arts Union our exhibition programme aims to give all students the opportunity to showcase and celebrate their creative practice. We run these throughout the year, exploring a variety of themes and disciplines. 🎤 🎭📽️ 🎨

This year we are hoping to run 2 on site exhibitions in BW Cafe!

All of our exhibition call outs and creative opportunities for the new year will be posted on our Instagram page and sent directly into your student inboxes.

Each exhibition is hosted either in the University building or at an accessible, independent venue in the city and will usually be opened with a launch party, allowing fellow students to view the artwork, talk to attendees about exhibited pieces and have a drink with friends to celebrate the exhibition!

So how do our LAU Societies work? ⁉️

All Leeds Arts University societies are run by students, for students and offer a wide range of activities to try. All our on site society events will be listed on the What's On Page - so we recommend checking this regularly.

Check out our societies website page and get following society Instagrams to receive updates from your Society Leaders.

Alternatively we will also be running the Freshers Fair on Wednesday the 16th of September if you want to have a look and meet the Society Leaders in person.

Introducing you to Leeds Arts Union Art Markets! 🛒🛍️🎨

Leeds Arts Union runs a variety of art markets throughout the academic year to give students first hand experience of selling their own products and designs to their peers and the general public.

All students are eligible to sign up, stalls are always free and earnings from sales are yours to keep!

We advertise our art market call outs over on our Instagram page as well as emailing students directly about these opportunities.

You can apply for a stall through a short form and will be contacted after submissions close to find out if you have successfully secured a spot in the market.

This year the first art market we will on Tuesday the 15th of September. Come on down!
