Pudsey Community Project are holding their next pop-up event for local families this Saturday, 13th June from 2-5pm.

They'll have school uniform (including some logo items for local schools) plus a good selection of summer casual clothes. They would love to see lots of families there choosing to reuse, helping save money and helping the planet!

On Friday 5th June, year 3 participated in a financial literacy workshop linked to Let's Talk Money with Molly the Butterfly. The workshop supported the children's learning in PSHE and maths, helping them to develop a greater understanding of money and financial decision-making through interactive activities and discussion.

A group of KS2 pupils attended the Leeds Book Awards ceremony this week to hear from each of the shortlisted authors, find out the winning books within the fiction and graphic categories and have the opportunity to have books signed by the authors. Each author talked about what inspired them, the process they go through to create a story, the setbacks they have faced along the way and about their passion for creating stories. It really was an inspiring day. The winning books will be announced in an assembly after half term, led by the pupils who attended and Mrs Percival. Each of the 6 books are still available to read in each KS2 classroom and can also be borrowed from your local library.

FROGS:
After the success of last year, we are running a Rainbow raffle again as one of our summer fundraisers.

We will be creating colour themed hampers that each represent a colour of the rainbow. Each year group has been allocated a colour and we will be asking for donations of items in that colour.

For example, Reception have been allocated the colour red, so we will be asking for red hamper donations from that particular year group.

There will be a non-uniform day on Friday 5th June where children can come to school in their own clothes in exchange for their hamper item. Following Rainbow Day, your gift donations will be used to make Rainbow hampers which we will be raffling off.

Thanks, as always for your continued support.

Miss Byrne has been sharing her special bubble mix with the Friendly Foxes, showing them how to create big, beautiful bubbles! As a well-earned brain break after all their hard work, we like to head outside to enjoy some fresh air and have fun chasing and catching giant bubbles.

We are incredibly proud of our SATS superstars. Everyone in Y6 has approached this week with positivity, determination and resilience. Here they are enjoying a delicious breakfast together before their final paper today.

We are incredibly proud of our wonderful mathematicians. Before the Easter holidays, 29 of our Y5 and Y6 children volunteered to participate in a national problem-solving Maths challenge, where they independently solved a set of tricky questions using a range of mathematical skills. Each child worked really hard and was awarded a certificate for their participation, resilience and determination. Last week, four of our Y5 children attended a Maths Challenge Day at The Grammar School at Leeds. The children worked excellently as a team throughout a variety of problem-solving activities, earning themselves 4th place out of 16 attending schools. This group represented Greenside with pride and were superb role models throughout the event.

In Chameleons, we have been taking part in Active Maths. The children used a variety of tools to measure lengths in millimetres, centimetres and metres. Before measuring, we made lots of predictions and then checked to see how accurate they were. For example, we used a trundle wheel to predict and measure the length of the playground. We had lots of fun while developing our measuring and estimating skills.
