New Bewerley Community School

Last week our staff team had some wonderful CPD with Mrs Revill. Each staff team made a vehicle before testing it out with an eggcellent passenger 🥚 I wonder who had the best vehicle?

Yesterday our children had a very special visit from Nelly the story bus! 🚌 We are so lucky to have such a fantastic experience to help inspire a love of reading in our children! 💛

Last half term, our Year 5 children had an amazing time at their Greek-themed sleepover!

They enjoyed:
🌙 A fun night at school with friends
🥗 Making their own delicious Greek salad
🏅 Taking part in exciting Mini Olympic-style competitions
🗺️ A fun treasure hunt to keep them active and engaged
🍿 A cosy wind-down with a snack and a movie before bed

It was a night full of fun, friendship, and ancient Greek adventures! 🏺⚡

👏 Thank you to all of the parents and carers who came to our Year 2 showcase. The children were thrilled to share their knowledge on how hospitals have changed over time, talk about our visit to Thackray Medical Museum and showcase their amazing work on Florence Nightingale. 👏

🚶 It’s WALK TO SCHOOL week 🚶

We are taking part in this brilliant incentive. Let’s get as many of our families as possible walking to school this week. You can:
⭐ Walk from home
⭐ Scoot to school
⭐ Ride your bike to school
⭐ Get off the bus at the bus stop before your usual stop
⭐ Park a street away in your car and walk

… Any opportunity to walk to school 😌 There are lots of positives for walking to school, including exercise, supporting your mental health, being part of the community and less pollution entering the air.

The class with the most children who walk to school will receive a prize at the end of the week. Who will win? 👀

✍️ A huge well done to those who were awarded with ‘Handwriter of the Week’ last week. Our children are working hard to improve their handwriting and presentation skills. Today, they were rewarded for their commitment ✍️

🏴‍☠️ Our Reception children had a fantastic day last week for their Pirate Day! Lots of fantastic outfits, a picnic and ‘Shiver me timbers’. 🏴‍☠️

Some of our KS2 children had so much fun at today’s Orienteering event ran by Leeds Well School Partnership! All the children worked collaboratively and we even came 2nd with our Year 3&4 Team! Well done everyone 👏👏👏
