From all of us at Heaton Lodge Children's Nursery, we want to say how incredibly proud we are of each and every one of you.

It has been a joy to watch you grow, learn, make friends, and develop into the wonderful, confident children you are today. You have filled our nursery with laughter, kindness, curiosity, and lots of happy memories that we will treasure.

As you begin your exciting new adventure in Reception, remember to believe in yourselves, be brave, keep asking questions, and never stop learning. We know you will continue to shine and make us proud wherever your journey takes you.

💜Blackberry exploration💜

As we noticed that the blackberries had started to grow on the bushes around the nursery, we headed outside to pick some. With support from their carers, our babies used their fine motor skills to carefully pick the blackberries and take them back to the nursery.
Once we returned, we washed the blackberries and gave the children the opportunity to taste the fruit they had picked themselves. The following day, we extended the experience by using the blackberries for a creative activity. The children used the fruit as paint, with spoons provided to squash and splat the blackberries, creating colourful marks and patterns.
It was a wonderful sensory experience that encouraged exploration, creativity, and the development of fine motor skills. Our babies especially enjoyed tasting the blackberries they had picked themselves!

🍦National ice cream day🍦

To celebrate national ice cream day we set up our very own ice cream parlour here at nursery as a surprise to all of our children. Our pre schoolers became especially excited when they noticed Abbie the ice cream lady! Our children even spoke about their experiences the following week.

“Nothing beats a Poppies holiday” ✈️✈️✈️
This afternoon poppies went on holiday! We started at passport control making sure we got our stamps. Then we made our way slowly through security moving on to get our boarding passes checked. Our lovely air hostess showed us the way to our seat where we waited for take off. We strapped ourselves in all ready for takeoff and off we went. During the flight we looked out of our windows and spotted The Big Ben and The Eiffel Tower! We finished the flight with a beverage and a smooth landing accompanied by a bit of Jess Glynn 🎶. We rated our holiday 5 million out of ten. Well done Poppies!

This afternoon buttercups and blossoms had a last minute trip to the park, our children did so wonderfully using their ‘stop, look and listen” skills as we crossed the busy roads and loved getting some much needed fresh air!
We have lots of very tired boys and girls this evening! 😊
