What a fantastic day we had at our EYFS Sports Day today! Nursery enjoyed their event this morning and Reception and Nursery joined together this afternoon. Our children showed incredible enthusiasm, determination and teamwork as they took part in a range of fun activities.
We were so proud to see everyone trying their best, cheering on their friends and for their positive attitudes! π
Thank you to our staff and families for your support in making the event such a success.

ππ·οΈ Mad About Minibeasts! ππ
This week, Nursery have started exploring our new focus text, Mad About Minibeasts!
We began our learning with an exciting minibeast hunt in the forest school area. The children carefully searched high and low and were thrilled to discover spiders, ants, bees, woodlice and ladybirds.
Back in the classroom, the children enjoyed exploring our minibeast-themed provision. They painted colourful minibeasts, examined them closely using magnifying glasses and shared their observations with their friends.

This week in Reception, the children have been exploring clay and investigating how it differs from dough. They used their senses to describe the clay, sharing observations such as, "It's harder," "It's cold," and "It's smooth."
The children used shells to create imprints in the clay, carefully pressing and exploring the different patterns and textures they could make. This hands-on activity encouraged curiosity, language development, and creativity, while also helping to strengthen fine motor skills and hand muscles through squeezing, pressing, and moulding the clay.

Today our Reception children enjoyed painting pasta shells using watercolours and fine paintbrushes. This creative activity helped to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and dexterity as they carefully controlled the brushes to apply colour to the shells.

Year 2 have had an amazing day, going back in time to the Victorian era and spending the day in a Victorian schoolroom.
We spent the day learning by 'rote', making a traditional Victorian toy and practicing our best handwriting.
We all looked fantastic in our Victorian inspired outfits.
