Year 2 have had an amazing day, going back in time to the Victorian era and spending the day in a Victorian schoolroom.
We spent the day learning by 'rote', making a traditional Victorian toy and practicing our best handwriting.
We all looked fantastic in our Victorian inspired outfits.

A huge thank you to our Year 6 knitting fairy! ๐งโโ๏ธ She has been very busy making adorable โworry wormsโ for all of our Year 6 children. What a lovely treat for a busy week but also as we start to think about transitions to high school. Wiggle those worries away! ๐ชฑ
We love them so much, lots of the staff are now sporting them on their lanyards!

To Year 6, Holly and Cherry class,
Today was the first day of SATs and you were all fantastic! We are so incredibly proud of how hard-working you all are and the lovely young people you are growing up to be! Remember, tests do not define who you are! Continue to amaze us as you always do.

๐จ This week in Nursery we explored patterns and shapes through art!๐๐๏ธ๐จ
We looked at the wonderful work of Yayoi Kusama, Henri Matisse and revisited Wassily Kandinsky, talking about the different patterns, colours and shapes we could spot in their artwork.
The children shared lots of fantastic ideas and then created their very own masterpieces inspired by the artists we had explored. We used circles, lines, dots and bright colours to make unique pieces of art.

This week in Nursery, we explored early computer programming using our BeeBots! ๐
The children learned that the BeeBot moves when we press the orange buttons, and they had great fun โprogrammingโ it by choosing directions before pressing the green button to make it go.
It was wonderful to see their excitement as they watched where the BeeBot travelled and developed their problem-solving skills through play.
A fantastic introduction to technology and logical thinking! ๐

On Friday, our Reception and Year 1 classes were visited by Paul from Roundhay Tennis Club for some tennis taster sessions.
Everyone took part in lots of games involving their tennis skills, hand-eye coordination and ball skills with several children taking part in their taster days this weekend!
Well done all and thanks to Paul for coming in and visiting us.
