WOW what a day.
It was lovely to see so many residents share their concerns regarding the Sand and Gravel Quarry that has been applied for in the village.
It was our pleasure to assist in writing residents objections, and we will be doing it all again next Saturday 31st May 10am to 3pm, and Tuesday 3rd June 3pm to 7pm.
If you would like help with your objection please come along to one of our open days, we will be more than happy to help, or even write your objection should you wish.
We know that the application number isn't live on the LCC Planning Portal yet, but that doesn't stop us or you from being prepared.
We have one chance to stop this and been united is our best chance for a successful outcome.
This application is for a quarry and should the developer wish, they could ask for an extension, subject to planning permission having been granted.
This would then allow them to move to other areas of the village, and the 15 year timeline could turn into 30/40 years maybe even more.
Your objections really do matter and are crucial if we want to STOP the quarry.
The application we are fighting is for a quarry, should it be for housing we would be doing the same.
I must thank all the volunteers who did a Stirling job today. Thank you also to Councillor Mary Harland( Kippax & Methley Labour Team - Mary Harland, James Lewis & Michael Millar ) for popping by today to show her continued support. Our MP Keir Mather ( https://www.facebook.com/share/1HKhTRPYu3/ )
also found time to visit us today. Their presence was very much appreciated.
Thank you again to all
Julie
