In the run up to our first 2 sessions I wanted to introduce you to our models Ruth and Richard. It really showcases their passion for art and their dedication to their craft. I had an opportunity to draw them both at Horsforth Life Drawing so here is a selection of my own sketches of them.

Meanwood Institute is a Grade II listed building and is a registered charity. It has served as a social meeting place for many years.

I thought it would be a great place to hold life drawing classes as it’s not only beautiful but it’s also a good size. Most of all though, it has a stage where the model could be positioned, so everyone has a view of the full figure.

However, the only availability they had was MONDAYS from 5-7PM. I appreciate this might not be ideal for people, who finish work at 5pm. 😣 However I hope that with WFH and other flexible working arrangements this can be worked around. That is why I plan to forgo a longer break in the middle of the class. Instead I will allow up to the first 15min for folk to arrive and get settled. 🤔
