This week in the tulips room we have been looking at the story called walking through the jungle. The children have explored painting with the animals, looking at the patterns and making their own patterns. We have followed the children’s interests of looking for insects and mini beasts in the garden and we provided pots with magnifying glasses on for the children to have a closer look at them. We have provided shady cool areas outside for the children and they have enjoyed having the tents out. As it has been very hot the children have had to have limited time outside, inside we have cooled off playing group games and doing animal jigsaw puzzles.

We had a busy week this week in Daffodils with our story, “Cat’s Cookbook.” The children have enjoyed making pretend food with pasta outside, hunting around the library for pictures of books and getting creative in the Forest Schools by making herby soup, mud pies and leaf tea. We also had Father’s Day Stay and Play with various activities.

This week in the Tulips room we have been looking at the story called “You choose”. The children have enjoyed interacting with the story and talking about all things they would choose. The children have been exploring different construction materials to build houses and buildings and they have created their own story books using their imagination and drawing their ideas. We have provided the children with a range of different dressing up outfits and have supported them to become more independent with dressing. On Friday we celebrated Father’s Day and had a stay and play session with our parents and carers.

Last week in the tulips room we had been looking at the story called “Peace at last” about a bear who can’t get any sleep. The children have really enjoyed this story and have followed it well. We have explored lots of exciting activities throughout the week including a listening game and making listening ears to wear, lotto games and jigsaws, making vegetable wraps, continuing our bare foot walks in forest school and lots of role play with the teddy bears.

This week in the sunflowers room, we have had a very busy week.

We looked at the book “The Tiger who came to tea”. The children loved this book as we spoke about what the greedy tiger ate, as well as patterns and what we would buy from the shop. One of our activities were to look at patterns, complete patterns and create our own. The children were fantastic at this. Another one of our activities were to create a shopping list, where we focused on our writing skills, the children are coming along with there writing which is FANTASTIC!!

We also went litter picking this week, the children did amazing at this and we collected lots and lots of rubbish. Well Done boys and girls!!!

And finally, we also made some scones this week and they were absolutely delicious, the children loved them!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone 🌻

We have used chalk outside to draw around our bodies and measure them and compare sizes. In forest school the children experienced a bare foot walk on different textures such as stones, grass, mud and bark. We have started our transition visits to the sunflower room for the children that will be moving up in September. We have had such a busy week back.

This week in the sunflowers room we have looked at the book “you choose fairy tales”. This book has been one of the children’s favourite books this year, there is so much to talk about and so many activities to do.

The children have enjoyed listening to the book and choosing their own characters, houses, friends, mazes ect in this book and putting the story together at the end. We let their imaginations run away with itself. We have also created our own stories by choosing characters who we want in our stories then drawing them. The children have also spoken about what they would like to be when they grow up, we had lots of teachers, builders, princesses, spidermen and many more wonderful things.

In our forest school we got to experience a bare foot walk which the children absolutely loved. They spoke about what they could feel on their feet as they walked across it.

And finally… in our little chefs we created pizza wraps!! They were absolutely delicious. The children add mushrooms, tomato puree,Sweet corn and cheese. The children loved them.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend and remember always follow your dreams✨💫
