Today is International Women in Engineering Day 💡

It’s a reminder that behind every woman in engineering, there’s often a journey a ‘learning curve’ filled with challenges, resilience, and growth.

For many girls, that journey starts with building confidence in subjects like maths and science. It’s not always easy. Doubts creep in, stereotypes still exist, and sometimes all it takes is the right support at the right time to keep going.

That’s where the support of tutors and mentors play such an important role. They don’t just teach equations or formulas, they help unlock belief. They create safe spaces to ask questions, to make mistakes, and to realise that “I can’t do this” can turn into “I just need to learn how.”

Every session, every breakthrough moment, every bit of encouragement adds up. And over time, that ‘learning curve’ becomes a pathway, one that leads to opportunities, ambitions, and dreams that once felt out of reach.

Today we celebrate the women already shaping the world through engineering and the girls who are on their way there, one lesson at a time. 💜

On 6 June 1944, D-Day did exactly that.

As part of World War II, the Allied invasion of Normandy, known as Operation Overlord, marked a major turning point in the war. It wasn’t just about strategy or dates; it was about courage, sacrifice, and decisions that shaped the world we live in today.

Over 150,000 troops landed on the beaches of France, facing immense danger to begin the liberation of Europe from the forces of Adolf Hi**er.

At The Learning Curve, we believe history isn’t just something to memorise. It’s something to understand. Events like D-Day help students think critically, ask questions, and connect the past to the present.

Today, we remember those who served and continue inspiring the next generation to learn from their legacy.
