Today is World Youth Skills Day. At British Gypsum we are passionate about training and improving the skills of the next generation of plasterers and dryliners. Meet WorldSkills entrant Curtis Johnston, he will be competing this August at WorldSkills Kazan 2019 in the Plastering and Drywall Systems category. Worker fatigue is a real issue in the construction industry and presents significant health and safety risks. Affecting workers ability to respond and react promptly, it can lead to errors, near misses, injuries and even death.

To find out more about the issue and how it is being addressed, the Considerate Constructors Scheme is carrying out a survey, encouraging everyone working across the industry to take part. To have your say click the following link https://conta.cc/2ESmmP9

The survey closes on 9 August 2019. Results will be used to help inform the Scheme’s Spotlight on...worker fatigue’ national campaign, due to be published in the Autumn.

4 things you may not know about Gyproc AquaBead:
- It should only be applied with a sprayer. Soaking or dunking it can remove adhesive properties
- It can also be applied like any normal bead: where the background is poor, it can be bedded in like tape, or stapled like a metal bead, without any need for spraying first
- If it dries before you have time to install it, simply re-spray and it will re-activate the adhesive
- Small sections can be replaced by cutting them out
