Based at Solent Airport in Lee-on-the-Solent, situated midway between Southampton and Portsmouth the Hampshire Aeroplane Club provides flying training and self fly hire facilities. If you are considering becoming a pilot or just want to see what flying an aircraft is like, then come and talk to us. We’re always willing to have a chat about flying over a cup of coffee. Sad to hear of the passing of Eleanor Wadsworth at 103, one of the last surviving ATA pilots who ferried fighters and bombers to the front line airfields during WW2.

Blue Skies Ma'am, rest peacefully.



Eleanor Wadsworth flew hundreds of aircraft, including Spitfires and Hurricanes, to the front line in WW2.
