The first LEAF family activity this year! Forest Fun session on Saturday at the Ledbury Primary forest school area (beyond the Children's Centre along the footpath beside the school). Particularly suitable for toddlers through to Primary, but all are welcome. Free of charge, includes a picnic for children and hot drinks for carers.

At the Friends of Ledbury Children’s Centre we finished our summer Fun in the Forest sessions with another lovely day. We picked some plums and apples, chopped them and cooked them on the fire (no sugar needed, just add bananas 😉) then served with custard 😋. Also lots of exploring, mud play, den building, swinging and nature spotting, we saw a lovely frog that made us jump 😂 Thanks again all for coming.Also LEAF event coming soon

Lovely discussion about play! I found myself doing less tools, fire and activities in my forest school sessions and ‘holding space’ so children can play. This discussion really dives into what play means and how culturally it’s changed and how we as adults allow, respond and interact with play. Often the hardest part is allowing children to have the control to play as they need to, even though it might put us adults out of our comfort zone.

Shall we have another community gathering? Of course! Let’s get together for an autumn celebration. So far, weather is looking sunny and we’ll cook some lovely autumn soup on the campfire. 🔥
