Look at those fabulous blazers! A blast from the past courtesy of Emily Gover (MHOG 2003) who paid us a visit a few weeks ago whilst visiting family in the Bookham area.
Emily now lives on the west coast of the US but spent 3 years at Manor House between 1993 and 1996. But which year was this and where was it taken? A big thank you to Emily for sharing a great crop of photos and more from her in a future Alumnae Newsletter.

We've been thrilled to receive visits from two US based old girls in the last few days. Dr Jan "Terece" West, née Glascock, enjoyed a tour of the school last week with her husband , having last walked across the Manor House playing fields in 1969. Jan returned to Texas with her family aged 13 to continue her studies at W. T. White High School in Dallas and then onto University at the age of 15, a full 3 years early compared to her peers. We can't wait to feature Jan in one of our next Alumnae newsletters - if you haven't already signed up, please email Sophie Milton at [email protected].

After a few quiet months (with projects taking us away from the Alumnae Office apologies) we are back with a corker of a friendship group!
Thank you to Julia Cavanagh, née Driscoll, for getting in touch and telling us about many from her class of 1982, who "still get together annually at a minimum. We live across the country, from Norwich in the East to Bristol in the West. But we’ve continued to support each other through the years with friendships evolving to remain current."
Careers are many and varied - a nutritionist, an events company director, a maths tutor, a doctor, a teacher and a charity CFO. Congratulations to them all for staying in touch and great to hear where their different professional paths have led them.

Whilst some of us engage in some gentle paddle boarding this summer, Dani Poulter and Lucy Morris (MHOG 2012) will be taking part in the Peddle, Paddle, Peak challenge, taking them on a 30 mile cycle in the Lake District, a two-mile canoe paddle on Ullswater Lake and climbing the Helvellyn Mountain, the second highest peak in England, all in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK.

Dani shares: "I am passionate about doing everything I can to raise money to improve the quality of life for people living with muscle-wasting conditions like my brother John’s – and ultimately to find a cure."

Lucy adds: "I grew up just around the corner from Dani and John, so have seen some of the challenges John and his family have faced over the years – especially during the pandemic.
As a team of four, our aim was to raise £500 each and I am already over that mark! Now it's a case of every little helps to make an even bigger difference”. https://www.justgiving.com/team/withoutapaddle.

We will be cheering you on!

More on Dani and Lucy's stories in this term's alumnae newsletter, to be published online in mid July.
