We’re heading out into the community for Restart a Heart Day, and we’d love for you to come down and see us! 👋

Our team will be at the front of The Old Crown, ready to chat all things CPR, answer your questions and give you the opportunity to have a go at CPR and learn how to use a defibrillator.

You never know when you might need to act in an emergency, but knowing what to do can make all the difference.

❤️ We’re getting ready for Restart a Heart Day on Friday 16th October! ❤️

Restart a Heart is an annual campaign raising awareness of cardiac arrest and encouraging more people to learn CPR and how to use a defibrillator.

The message is simple: you don’t need to be a healthcare professional to help save a life. Knowing what to do in those crucial first few minutes can make all the difference. ❤️

We’ll be heading out into the community to spread the word, get people hands-on with CPR and show just how easy it can be to use a defibrillator.

📍 Keep your eyes peeled… we’ll be revealing our location very soon! 👀 Would you know what to do if someone suddenly collapsed?

Back in July, we shared the DARE to BARE campaign. Now, the event has taken place, raising an incredible £24,500 and counting for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance! 🙌

The campaign is helping break down barriers around women and CPR, encouraging everyone to feel confident to act when it matters most.

BVI Update 🚨

Following our recent BVI posts, we wanted to share a quick update with you all! As of July 2026:

🌍 5 visits to the BVI - Each visit is just one week, with our instructors delivering back-to-back courses throughout their time on the islands.
👩‍⚕️27 Back to Life instructors have voluntarily travelled to the BVI to support the programme.

📚 45 courses delivered, including:
• 8 ALS
• 5 EPALS
• 1 GIC
• 3 ILSi
• 10 ILS
• 4 ILS recertification
• 6 PILS
• 4 PILS recertification

🎓 364 candidates have attended our courses

And perhaps one of the most exciting parts of the programme has been seeing local faculty develop:

⭐ 7 candidates have now progressed to become full instructors, including:
• 1 EPALS instructor
• 2 ALS instructors
• 4 ILS instructors
• 2 PILS instructors

But our most exciting milestone yet came on 13 July 2026, the first Back to Life course delivered with an entirely BVI faculty. A PILS course was led by local instructors, a fantastic reflection of how far the programme has come!
Alongside training, we’ve also been supporting audits of emergency equipment across the hospital and community clinics. A programme is now underway to standardise paediatric emergency equipment across the British Virgin Islands.

New statutory guidance on allergies comes into effect from 1 September 2026

As a training provider, we’re pleased to see greater focus on allergy awareness and staff preparedness in schools

A really positive step towards safer school environments.

The Department for Education has now published its statutory guidance. The new requirements will become mandatory from 1 September 2026.
