🇯🇵💛 Harbury Home Ed Hub – Monday Social Meet-Up 💛🇯🇵

📅 Monday 12th October
📍 Harbury Village Hall, CV33 9JE
⏰ 1–2.30pm
💛 £2 per child to cover materials – cash only

Our Country of the Week is back... and this week, by popular demand, we’re heading to JAPAN! 🇯🇵

The children are VERY excited about this one! 😁

We’ll have some Japan-themed activities to explore, along with all the usual Lego, arts and crafts, board games, colouring and quieter activities. We have a large hall with sports equipment that is perfect for burning off some energy too!

As always, our Monday sessions are relaxed, child-led and inclusive and neurodivergent-friendly. There’s no pressure to join in with anything, and quiet spaces are available for anyone who needs a calmer place to take a break.

And don’t forget... if your child wants to bring something Japan-related to share, they absolutely can! It could be a book, drawing, photo, object, fact, something they’ve made... anything at all. There’s no pressure to bring anything or speak to the group.

Come along, have a play, make some things, learn a few things about Japan and enjoy a relaxed afternoon with other home ed families. 💛

Everyone is welcome! 😊🇯🇵

Whats on this week! We look forward to seeing you 💛

Here is a little peek at some of our new sports equipment! 🤩

We had ordered this to arrive in plenty of time for this Mondays session, but unfortunately the delivery was delayed so it didn't arrive in time! We are looking forward to testing it all out at our next village hall session on the 12th October 🏸⚽️🥅

We appreciate all of your donations week in, week out. Not only does it help to cover the cost of the activities we set out, but any extra also goes towards bigger purchases like this which will ultimately help to expand our sessions, and keep them fresh and engaging for the children. THANK YOU 💛

We had Indian snacks, henna, dancing, mandalas and lots of fun facts!

Thank you to all who came along, and to all who brought things into share, an extra special thank you!

We meet again in two weeks time, where we will be having lots of fun with a new country... the children had lots of suggestions today, so keep your eyes peeled for the big reveal... 👀!

If you’re new to home ed this term, a little bit about us...

Harbury Home Ed Hub is a friendly, inclusive, and neurodivergent-friendly home ed community. Our Monday sessions are relaxed, free-flowing and child-led, with no expectation for children to join in with anything they don’t want to. There’s plenty of space to play, chat, make things, explore activities, or simply hang out with other home ed families.

We have quieter spaces available too, for anyone who needs a bit of time away from the busier activities or just prefers a calmer space. 💛

We’ll have the usual mix of Lego, arts and crafts, board games, colouring and quieter activities, with plenty of time for children to choose what they fancy doing.

🏃‍♀️ And we have some new sports equipment coming to the hall this week! 🎉

🌎 A new idea for this term... Country of the Week!

Thanks to a lovely suggestion from one of our parents, each week we’ll choose a different country and everyone is welcome to bring along something to share with the group.

It could be photos from a holiday, a book, some artwork, an object, something you’ve made, a story, a fact you’ve discovered... anything at all! There’s absolutely no pressure to bring anything if you dont want to. We’ll also bring along a couple of things to share and some activities linked to the country.

🇮🇳 This week... INDIA! 🇮🇳

Come along, have a play, meet some other families and see what everyone brings along! 💛

Come as you are, everyone is welcome 😊

Hi all! I am just sharing some information regarding a new session that we tried out today in case it is of interest to any of you.

The age is a guideline, and the sessions are run by an english tutor & therapist called Debbie who is fully inclusive and neurodivergent friendly. She immediately made my son feel comfortable and knew exactly how to get him to engage in the session. The setting is very relaxed, and we are looking forward to returning next week!

Sessions run on a Wednesday at the moment, but there is also scope for a Thursday session if this works better for people. Please drop her a message if you have any questions or interest 😊
