Turn your walk or car ride into a fun number-spotting game!

👀 Ask your child to find meaningful numbers—like their age, house number, or birthday—on doors, post boxes, or lampposts.

🔢 Make it a challenge by spotting numbers in order (1, 2, 3…) or even doing some quick maths—add or multiply the numbers you see!

🚗 It’s a brilliant way to keep little minds busy on a stroll or during a car journey using licence plates.

New Online Safety Rules for Children – What Early Years Providers Need to Know.

The UK Government has announced new measures to better protect children online — with big changes ahead from Spring 2027.

Key updates:
• Social media ban for under-16s – platforms like TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat will no longer be accessible to younger children.

• Safer online gaming & apps – features like livestreaming and contact from strangers will be restricted for children.

• Stronger age checks – online platforms will be required to verify users’ ages more effectively.

• Staying connected safely – messaging services (e.g. WhatsApp) will still be allowed for keeping in touch with known friends and family.
