Our Year 2 children led a lovely assembly on St Thérèse of Lisieux, whose feast day we celebrated this month. They shared how St Thérèse didn’t do big, famous things. Instead, she did small, ordinary things with extraordinary love, which she called her “Little Way”. 💐

The children finished by asking everyone a question to think about: what small act of love can you do today?

In RE, Year 4 have been exploring kindness and forgiveness through the story of Joseph. The children worked thoughtfully in pairs and on their own to reflect on Joseph’s choices and how we can show the same kindness and forgiveness in our own lives.

🌾 Celebrating the Harvest 🌾

Our Year 3 pupils led a beautiful Celebration of the Word this week, giving thanks for the gifts of harvest. Together they listened to a reading from Matthew’s Gospel about the harvest, sang joyful songs of celebration and took quiet time to write their own prayers of thanks. 🙏🍎

🪨 Sink or Float? 🪨

Year 3 have been putting rocks to the test! Working in groups, they carried out a buoyancy investigation, carefully dropping each type of rock into water to see whether it would sink or float. 💧🔬

Before testing, everyone made a prediction, and then they checked whether their results matched. Well done, Year 3! ⭐

Our Year 6 pupils have been reflecting on key events in Jesus' life and what they can teach us today. They wrote thoughtfully about Jesus healing and forgiving people, his baptism in the River Jordan, the Last Supper and his forgiveness of Peter, exploring how each one shows Jesus restoring our relationship with God. 🙏

Our Year 5 pupils have been producing some amazing RE work this term, exploring the different sacraments and what each one means for us. From Baptism, when we are welcomed into God's big family, to Reconciliation, when we ask God to forgive us and try again, they thought deeply about how each sacrament brings us closer to God. 🙏 💙

🦔 Hibernating Hedgehogs 🦔

As the weather turns cooler, our Reception children have been finding out how some animals hibernate through the winter. Inspired by what they learnt, they created their own hedgehog paintings, using forks to scratch spiky patterns into thick brown paint. 🍂🎨

"I'm making his spikes!"
"He is prickly!"

We think they look fantastic. Well done, Reception artists! ⭐
