We're LIVE at Smart Manufacturing Week!🤖

If you're at the NEC Birmingham today or tomorrow, come and find Naomi and Tim at our STEM Showcase stand. Have a go with our robotics challenge, get hands-on with some engineering activities, and chat to us about how we're helping young people discover where STEM can take them.

We've already had some brilliant conversations and plenty of competitive spirit around the 'Robotic Football' community challenge 😅

We’re excited to share a story from one of our own team members, Tai, whose journey with The Smallpeice Trust began with a passion for inspiring young people through STEM outreach.

Starting as a STEM Engagement Specialist, Tai quickly saw first hand the difference meaningful opportunities and encouragement can make in shaping young people’s futures.

In this latest instalment of our series, he reflects on the impact the Trust continues to have on generations of young people, from former course participants to Arkwright Scholars now thriving in industry. His story is a celebration of the people, purpose, and shared vision that drive The Smallpeice Trust forward as we continue inspiring the changemakers of tomorrow.

Space changes more than just your view… it can change your height 🚀

In this week’s Learn with Aoife, we’re looking at what really happens to the human body in space and why astronauts can actually grow taller while they’re up there.

Aoife breaks down the science behind it, from gravity (or the lack of it) to what it means for life beyond Earth.

Meet the STEM Superstars ✈️

Road to RIAT is our four-part STEM programme designed to get young people excited about engineering, aviation and technology through hands-on activities, design challenges and live experiences.

One of the highlights of the programme is “Meet the STEM Superstars”, a series of live virtual sessions where students get the chance to hear directly from real engineers, aviation experts and cyber specialists, and ask them questions live.

From RAF pilots and aircrew to aircraft engineers and cyber specialists, these are the people working behind the scenes in some seriously exciting careers and sharing what their day-to-day roles are really like.

🔹 Heather Bates, Software Engineer at PentenAmio
🔹 Drew Steel, former RAF pilot and aviation specialist
🔹 Pip Lloyd-Williams, RAF Cyberspace Engineering Officer
🔹 Gwil Rees, RAF Deputy Certification Manager
🔹 Mike Glen, aviation expert and mentor
🔹 Sian Burrows, Aircraft Design & Development Engineer at Virgin Atlantic
🔹 David Seaton, RAF Air Loadmaster

For many students, this will be their first chance to speak directly with people working in STEM and aviation, helping them see just how many different opportunities are out there for the future.
