🤝💙 International Day of Friendship | 30 July 🌍

Today we celebrate International Day of Friendship - a reminder that friendship has no borders, and that kindness, respect and connection can bridge every difference.

We’re especially proud of the friendships that grow between our visiting international students and our UK-based learners. These connections enrich everyone’s experience - sharing languages, traditions, food, and laughter - and showing how learning together creates understanding that lasts far beyond the classroom.

Here’s to every friendship made at WCG - across campuses, cultures and countries.

🌍💚 World Environment Day | 5 June 🌱

Today we celebrate World Environment Day - a global call to action to protect our planet and build a more sustainable future for everyone.

At WCG, caring for the environment is part of who we are. From agriculture and horticulture to animal welfare, construction, engineering, and motor vehicle studies, sustainability is woven into our teaching, our campuses, and our community. 🌾🔧🌿

World Environment Day reminds us that small actions make a big impact. Whether it’s choosing reusable materials, protecting biodiversity, or learning how to innovate for a greener future - together, we can make change happen.

👂💙 Deaf Awareness Week | 4–10 May 🤟

This week we’re proud to support Deaf Awareness Week - a time to celebrate the hearing impaired community, raise awareness, and promote understanding of hearing loss and communication access.

At WCG, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to making learning accessible for all - through British Sign Language (BSL) support, captioning, clear communication, and understanding the diverse experiences of our hearing impaired students and staff.

Deaf Awareness Week reminds us that communication is more than just words - it’s connection, patience, and respect. Small changes, like facing someone when speaking or learning a few BSL signs, can make a big difference.

To our hearing impaired students, staff, and interpreters - thank you for enriching our college community with your resilience, insight, and advocacy. You inspire us to listen more deeply and include more fully every day.

Let’s continue to build a world where everyone is heard, understood, and included.

Our students and staff are making a real difference - planting trees, reducing waste, supporting biodiversity, developing green technologies, and finding new ways to live and work more sustainably.

Education plays a vital role in tackling climate change - by equipping learners with the knowledge and skills to create innovative, environmentally conscious solutions across every sector.

From the Federal District to the heart of the UK! 🇬🇧✈️

We are so proud to share Bridges to the World: Education that broadens horizons, a documentary capturing the incredible journey of 102 public school students who spent three months exploring the UK.

💙 World Autism Awareness Day | 2 April 🌍

Today we join people across the world in recognising World Autism Awareness Day - a time to celebrate neurodiversity, promote understanding, and champion inclusion for autistic people everywhere.

At WCG, we’re proud to support our autistic students, staff, and community members. Every learner brings their own strengths, perspectives and creativity - and that diversity is what makes our college group so vibrant.

Our dedicated staff work to ensure that every learner feels supported, valued and understood - through inclusive teaching, specialist support, and by fostering environments where everyone can thrive as their authentic self.

Awareness is just the beginning - understanding leads to acceptance, and acceptance leads to belonging.

💬 “Autism is not a disorder to be cured, but a different way of being human to be understood.”

Let’s continue to build a community where neurodiversity is recognised, respected, and celebrated - today and every day. 💙

📖✨ World Poetry Day | 21 March 🌍

At WCG, the words take flight,
In classrooms glowing, soft with light.
Our tutors guide with heart and art,
Where language stirs the learner’s heart.

From classic verse to modern song,
They show us where our voices belong.
College minds and adults too,
Find meaning old, discover new.

Each poem a bridge, each line a spark,
A lamp that glows within the dark.
Through rhythm, rhyme, and gentle grace,
We see the world - a brighter place.

And to the teachers, steadfast, true,
Who breathe in words and share what’s new -
You give us courage, voice, and choice,
To write, to feel, to find our voice.
