A fresh way to photograph somewhere familiar. A new approach to telling stories through your images. The beginnings of your next project. Or simply the motivation to get out with your camera more often.

There’s plenty to bring home from Roads More Travelled 2026.

Join us for two days of talks, photography and conversation with Nori Jemil, Will Gray, Victoria Humphries and Anthony Luvera. From editorial photography and visual storytelling to the planning behind Photography Weekends Britain, there’ll be plenty to get you looking, thinking and talking about travel photography.

And some of the best inspiration might come from the person sitting next to you. There’s time throughout the weekend to meet other photographers, exchange ideas, share experiences and enjoy being surrounded by people who are just as passionate about photography and travel.

And remember, Roads More Travelled isn’t only for Travel Group members. RPS members and non-members are very welcome too.

Take your travel photography somewhere new.

Maybe that means looking at familiar places differently. Finding stronger stories in your images. Starting a new project. Or simply spending a weekend surrounded by other photographers and coming home inspired to get out with your camera.

That’s what Roads More Travelled 2026 is all about.

This year we’re turning our attention closer to home, exploring how we can bring the eye and craft of travel photography to journeys across the British Isles.

Across the weekend, Nori Jemil will take us into editorial photography and visual storytelling, while Will Gray goes behind the scenes of Photography Weekends Britain, exploring the planning and creative decisions behind a travel photography assignment. We’ll also hear from RPS CEO Victoria Humphries and RPS Director of Education Anthony Luvera.

And there’s plenty of time away from the speaker sessions to meet other photographers, exchange ideas and talk about the places and pictures that inspire you.

You don’t need to be a Travel Group member to attend. You don’t even need to be an RPS member. Everyone is welcome.

Four very different perspectives on photography, travel and where our images can take us.

At Roads More Travelled 2026, we’re bringing together an inspiring line-up for a weekend dedicated to travel photography:

Nori Jemil, award-winning travel photographer and author of The Travel Photographer’s Way, will explore what editors look for in travel photography, from standout single images to documentary storytelling. She’ll also lead an interactive session looking at how a series of images can become a compelling narrative or portfolio.

Will Gray, award-winning photographer and author of Photography Weekends Britain, takes us behind the scenes of photographing Britain. He’ll reveal the planning, challenges and creative decisions involved in a major photography assignment, before taking a closer look at ten of his favourite images from the book.

Victoria Humphries, RPS CEO and adventurous traveller, will share her vision for the RPS alongside her thoughts on travel photography and images from some of her own journeys.

And Anthony Luvera, photographic artist and RPS Director of Education, will share his enthusiasm for photographic education and introduce the RPS Distinctions programme.

This year, we’re turning our attention closer to home, exploring how we can bring the eye and craft of travel photography to journeys across the British Isles.

And you don’t need to be a Travel Group or RPS member to join us. Everyone with an enthusiasm for travel photography is welcome.

What happens when you bring a roomful of travel photographers together for a weekend?

There’s inspiration from the speakers, of course. But Roads More Travelled is also about everything that happens around the agenda.

It’s the conversations over coffee and dinner. Hearing how other photographers approach their images and journeys. Catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people and heading home with fresh ideas for your own photography.

This year, Roads More Travelled celebrates travel photography a little closer to home, exploring how the same curiosity, storytelling and creativity we bring to overseas adventures can transform the journeys we make in the UK (or, for our international members, wherever you live).

Join fellow Travel Group members and travel photographers for a weekend of inspiring speakers, shared experiences, practical ideas and conversations.

Have you booked your place for our Cambridge Photography Day?

Join the RPS Travel Group on Saturday 1st August in Cambridge. A city famed for academia but also a city of architecture and natural beauty, join us for a day of photography and learning in this world-renowned city.

We'll meet our Blue Badge-qualified local guide for a two-hour walk and overview of the city and discover places to revisit later for our own photography.

You'll then have the afternoon to explore at your own pace and capture the city through your own lens.

Whether you're familiar with Cambridge or visiting for the first time, it's a fantastic opportunity to spend the day photographing, learning and meeting fellow Travel Group members.

Join us this Thursday for A journey from Canada to England 1963.

Lachlan French ARPS shares a treasure trove of images scanned from slides taken by his parents-in-law on their return, east to west, from Canada to England. This is a rare opportunity to see the places we may well know well from modern travel as they were some 63 years ago.

The event is free, but spaces are limited.

Important note: Network Rail are performing track work which has resulted in a bus replacement service from Potters Bar for those travelling to St Albans City station from London King’s Cross or St Pancras.

St Albans Abbey station (from London Euston and change at Watford Junction) remains open but has a limited service.
