Still thinking about joining us in St Albans?

There are still a few places available for our Alban Pilgrimage Photography Day on 20 June – but spaces are limited.

This unique annual event offers an extraordinary mix of documentary, street and cultural photography, with giant carnival puppets, historic costumes, dramatic performances and plenty of atmosphere throughout the city centre.

Led by local photographer and Travel Group member Jeremy Fraser-Mitchell ARPS, the day is designed to help you get into the best positions to capture the procession and key moments along the route.

Whether you enjoy photographing places, people, storytelling or colourful public events, this is a fantastic opportunity to add something different to your portfolio.

Join us in St Albans this June for the Alban Pilgrimage – a unique opportunity to document a powerful story of history, theatre and community.

From the gathering crowds around St Peter’s Church to the dramatic procession of towering carnival puppets, the morning is full of compelling photographic moments.

Follow the parade as it winds through the city, culminating at St Albans Cathedral, where the story of Alban reaches its powerful conclusion. Along the way, expect colour, character and unexpected moments – including the famous “Holy Well” brought to life with help from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Led by local photographer and Travel Group member Jeremy Fraser-Mitchell ARPS, you’ll be guided to the best vantage points to make the most of the action.

Join us for the RPS Travel Group AGM – an opportunity to connect with members around the world and reflect on the year.

We’ll review 2025 through the Chair’s report and financial update, along with a look ahead to plans for 2026. The session will be followed by the announcement of our Annual Competition results, presented by judge Nori Jemil, author of Bradt Guides’ The Travel Photographer’s Way.

We’ll then hear from Rob Morgan ARPS, joining from Melbourne, with his thought-provoking talk: Is it Travel or is it Art? Exploring what defines travel photography and what elevates an image beyond documentation, Rob will share insights through his own work.

These sessions are a great opportunity to get to know other Travel Group members, share stories, and inspire each other. It’s open to guests outside the group too, so if you have an interest in travel photography then we’d love to see you there.

This is a great opportunity to meet other members of the RPS Travel Group (and sometimes participants beyond the group) to share travel & photography stories & images.

It’s an informal session, so please join us and get involved. These sessions are not recorded.

This Sunday, Laura Morgan will be joining us to talk about her photographic journey.

Day 2 at Roads Less Travelled was packed with inspiring talks from Leigh Preston, Chris Roche & Peter Brisley. We also heard from 4 of our members who shared prints, photobooks, adventures, Antarctic ghosts & tips from a winner of the monthly (and annual) member competition.

@ London Camera Exchange were back offering quotes to part exchange old kit and upgrade with some amazing show offers. They also selected the winner for their prize draw.

We were also joined by PermaJet who did some demo prints to showcase their papers.

Last up was the judging for the bring a print competition. Our judges, Sue O’Connell & Peter Brisley, talked us through some of the incredible entries & their shortlist. They then awarded the top 5 with prizes from Fotospeed or a photobook. Huge congratulations to the winners & thank you to everyone that took part. We absolutely loved seeing your prints.

What a weekend! It was so great to meet so many passionate travel photographers & bring the group together in person.
