Chantel Davenport Primary Tutor I am an experienced primary school teacher of over 23 years. My past roles have included SENDCo and Assistant Headteacher.

My sessions are specifically designed to accommodate your child, providing fun, creativity, patience and success. I am an experienced primary school teacher of over 20 years and was an Assistant Headteacher before becoming a full time mother. I now teach at a local private school but tutor in the evenings and weekend. I have always wanted to teach right from the time I would line my teddies up in my bedroom and begin taking the register! I love seeing "the penny drop" with children and watching them grow in confidence, as concepts begin to make sense. I believe every child can succeed and 1 to 1 tuition ensures that they get the focused teaching they need and more importantly deserve.

Learning doesn't have to look like sitting at a desk with a worksheet! 🍂✨

One of my favourite things about tutoring is finding creative ways to make learning fun, memorable and meaningful.

This Halloween-themed activity was a great opportunity to practise phonics, spelling and word building while keeping learning hands-on and engaging. 🎃📚

For some children, a different approach can make all the difference.

When learning feels enjoyable, children are often more willing to have a go, make mistakes, try again and—most importantly—believe in themselves. 💛

This is exactly what I want to create through my daytime sessions: a warm, nurturing learning environment where children can develop their skills while building confidence along the way.

A little introduction from me…

I’m passionate about supporting children who may be finding school or learning difficult, whether that's academically, emotionally or simply because they need a different approach.

I believe children learn best when they feel safe, understood and encouraged.

I have a few daytime 1:1 and small-group sessions for primary-aged children, including children who are homeschooled or follow a part-time/flexible timetable.

My sessions cover all primary subjects, but they're about so much more than academic progress.

They're about helping children recognise their strengths, build confidence and feel proud of what they can do.

Not every child flourishes in a traditional classroom, and that's okay.

This week’s creative arts session was all about finding and celebrating our inner light.

We explored what it means to feel brave, to try even when things feel a little scary, and to shine in our own unique way.

Each child created their own “Star of Strength” — filling it with things they love, what they’re good at, and the people who help them feel strong. They also made their own “Star ”, a little reminder that their light matters.

Because every child deserves to know:

“I am brave. I am strong. I can shine.”
