We’ve been quiet on the Len Wiltshire Music social channels this last year. It’s been a difficult one for many and we’ve acutely seen and felt the impact on all of us, including those of us involved in the arts. Personally, this year has been busy and intense with the day job in education, moving all our private lessons and choir online, homeschooling, and even moving house in a global pandemic! But there is no doubt that it’s been especially strange not being able to play the shows and gigs that would normally be in the diary.

So it was a pleasure and a privilege to be asked to be part of this virtual Overture of Overtures. Particularly as it aims to encourage support for Aberdeen Performing Arts and its dedicated team, whose venues have been dark for a year now.

Laurencekirk Vocal Group are fundraising to celebrate 150 years of VSA and I have given myself the challenge of running 150 miles by the night of our performance at the VSA Sing Sing Sing concert on 22nd March.

Starting today, it will mean tripling my normal weekly running distance over the next seven weeks. 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️

🥳And that means we are back this week for a new term of singing together!🥳

🎶 If you enjoy music, want to learn a new skill, make new friends, or just try something different, come along this Thursday at 7pm. All welcome, no experience required. 🎶

Lovely to be singing our festive tunes in Laurencekirk tonight!

We were delighted to sing at the Laurencekirk Christmas Shopping Night tonight. Any excuse to get those festive jumpers on! 🎄🎶
Thank you to First Friends for having us and to Santa, his helpers and all those who sang and danced along!

Share if you know any artists who may enjoy the opportunity to develop their performance style, adapt their work for different audiences and take LIVE music into community centres, care homes, schools and many other venues.
The work is paid and we hope the music has the ability to lift moods, encourage communication and brighten someone's day.

The kids programme at True North music festival in Aberdeen this year is great.

The interactive sound workshop with Tinderbox for ages 13-18 on Saturday (tomorrow!) is no exception. Learn how to create sounds and musical instruments from every day objects.

If your kid is a bit techy or a bit science-y and/or enjoys music this will be a great workshop.

Who wouldn’t want to know how to make a trampoline musical??! 🎶🎵
