Lowen Class enjoyed another wonderful visit to Haye Farm today, continuing to build our lovely connection with the farm and learning more about the world around us. The children enjoyed seeing the animals, creating some observational sketches and exploring how the farm changes during autumn. We even got to pick out our own leeks to take home! A huge thank you to Haye Farm for welcoming us once again and sharing your time and knowledge with the children, and a special thank you to Mrs A for returning to join us and help on the trip – it was lovely to have you back!

This afternoon, the whole school came together to create a special Harvest Festival bake – delicious apple and cinnamon cakes, made using apples kindly donated by one of our grandparents. The children worked brilliantly together, measuring, mixing and creating their cakes collaboratively. We’re really looking forward to sharing them with everyone tomorrow at our Harvest Festival in the chapel at 2:30pm. A lovely way to celebrate harvest together!

Lowen Class had a fantastic day at the Sustainability Centre today! We heard the remarkable story of four children who survived for 40 days in the Amazon rainforest (Operation Hope) and tried out some survival skills of our own, including crossing a river safely as a team and making a water filter to help clean water. The children showed brilliant teamwork, supporting one another as they tackled each challenge. We rounded off our adventure by gathering around a fire and toasting marshmallows—a lovely way to end a day full of learning and fun!

Lowen Class have settled brilliantly into the new school year! From building dams, learning phonics and exploring playdough to running our own shops, doing some amazing maths and playing hide-and-seek at Wild Tribe, everyone has been busy learning, playing and having fun. We are so proud of how well they are all doing!

Coads Green Primary School have enjoyed a wonderful first week back at school for our new school year.
Our returning pupils and new starters have settled beautifully!
Lots of learning has taken place, and we’ve even managed to enjoy partner reading between our older and younger pupils, and Wild Tribe- a great way to end the first week for Lowen Class.
