🎉 WOW - what an AMAZING carnival 🎉
The Smiley Happy People team were absolutely thrilled to win FIRST PRIZE in the Children’s float category … and then to be crowned BEST IN CARNIVAL was simply FABULOUS 🏆⭐️

The children and the whole team had the most wonderful time. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped make it happen:

🚜 K Lancaster and friend - for supplying the tractors and trailers, and for driving!
🏠David Viggers - for the loan of a shed
🎤Keep Audio Co - for the sound equipment
⚡️Terry Graves - for the generator
📸Our Arthur - for the photos
🎪The carnival committee for putting on such a brilliant event
And, of course, the biggest cheer goes to our amazing children, who made the props and decorations and smiled and waved their hearts out - and our wonderful staff, who entertained the crowds and kept everyone safe.

What a night, what a team, what an event and what a result!!!

Here’s to next year 😁

Here is the marvellous Michelle from the pre school room at Smiley Newport with her most favourite book.
Michelle loves it as her little ones call her “granny” ❤️ and she is convinced that she looks like the Gruffalo’s granny as well 🤣 can you see the resemblance??👵
As with all of Julia’s books it is beautifully written with fabulous illustrations and wonderful rhymes. It is sure to become a perfect autumn classic 🍂

Meet Sophie our Outdoor Learning Lead across the 3 Smiley settings.
The children at Trethorne had a brilliant morning outside collecting sticks, checking that they were dry by listening to them snap, cutting up larger sticks with a saw, making a campfire and toasting marshmallows - thank you Sophie ❤️

Meet Vicky, our baby room team leader and deputy manager extraordinaire at Trethorne Smiley Happy People, caught red-handed with her fave book! 📚😂

"My go-to children's book is "Peace at Last" by Jill Murphy - it's a laugh-out-loud, tear-jerker (just kidding, it's just really funny 😂) that I adore sharing with my mini-me's.
The silly noises and relatable storyline make it a real page-turner for our little ones. I love using 'Peace at Last' to get our little chatterboxes talking - we make silly sounds, repeat fun phrases, and play a game of 'what's next?' to keep them on their toes. It's basically the most fun you can have with a book and babies 😜.
