The Callaway fitting/demo day was a huge success at Launceston Golf Club this week. We had plenty of left handers, Ladies and golfers looking for something a little different to our normal fitting service on offer, taking full advantage of this fantastic opportunity to try all kind of different specs, combinations and variations of the current Callaway range.

Feedback from those that attended has been brilliant and for those who couldn’t make it, the good news is that we have other dates planned in the future. Personally we enjoyed the event and more importantly being able to facilitate this extra, additional, bonus opportunity for our membership to benefit from here at our club⛳️

Back into the swing of things at Launceston Golf Club. Since getting back from our holidays, we have been catching up with all the enquires/messages etc whilst dealing with an influx of golf lessons and club fittings.

If anyone needs a golf lesson asap or would like any advice on new purchases please do contact us directly and we will do our best to facilitate any assistance required. After a busy weekend, it was back to some normality with 6 lessons on the spin out on the course and inside in the studio. Few more on Tuesday before a much needed break and some holiday golf! ⛳️ might need some more practise before I go, looking at some of my demo shots today.

Another quick THANK YOU to everyone who helped out during my “Pro’s Day Event” whether that was beforehand, during or afterwards. Without that support and effort I couldn’t have facilitated such a great day and one which seemed to go down so do well with everyone who attended.

Special mentions need to go out to:
Brian Pedder for running my Champagne Putting Challenge throughout the day.
Teona & Carole who shared duties with my eldest daughter Emily and her other half “Matt” in the halfway hut giving out all the complimentary food and refreshments. Our two starters Helen and Dave, good job.

Mark in the office, who worked out all the scores, organised and put up (and down) the marquee and more importantly was there to help and support us all day. Jill and Abi who between them cooked over 100 bacon and sausage baps, served a field of approx 100 golfers today and looked after everyone inside the clubhouse. The green staff for presenting a great test of golf out on the course.

Then there’s my two rocks, whom make everything possible for me, Sam who picks up pretty much every single duty when I’m busy doing other things, never complains when I leave her all on her own as I take care of the more glamorous roles of being the Club Pro. And my son James, who even though he no longer works with us, always ends up sorting stuff out, like getting the buggy back in after it suddenly decided to literally go bang!

These two people are the reason why I’m still a golf Professional and it’s days like these I appreciate them more and more. It’s great to be surrounded by a fabulous team and to be able to facilitate days like today, THANK YOU everyone!

Thank you to everyone who attended and played golf in my first Pro’s Day Event at Launceston Golf Club. Special thanks must go out to my fabulous team who helped make this day possible and I will shortly do another post to highlight their efforts and my gratitude to them all.

Congratulations to the top 3 winning pairs:

1st Kev Dickinson & Dave Downing, winning a pair of Adidas MC2 Golf shoes (RRP £120)
2nd Linda & John Mullins, winning a pair of matching Adidas polo shirts (RRP £60)
3rd Jo & Shane Barrow, winning 2 “The Open Championship” baseball caps (RRP £30)

Nearest the pin winners were, Liz Hicks 4th, Duncan Wright 9th, Rich Bartlett 12th, Tom Dickinson 15th and Jack Japes 17th. All winners won a dozen top class golf balls.

The Champagne challenge was won by Colin Howard whom claimed ownership of a very nice (very expensive) bottle of vintage 1985 Moët after getting it within a few inches of it. Tom Herron won the bottle of wine with the impossible putt golf ball!

Although both Sam and I both said the biggest winner was seeing the club full of life, golfers enjoying themselves and a real buzz around the entire club. We look forward to putting on future events like this again and once again would like to say how much we appreciate everyone’s support!
