St Joseph's School is delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Class of 2026, whose GCSE results reflect not only their academic success, but also their remarkable resilience, determination, personal growth and, most importantly of all, their character. ✨
As a proudly non academically selective school, St Joseph's welcomes young people of all abilities, backgrounds and learning profiles. Today's results are a testament to what can be achieved when every child is known, valued and supported to become the very best version of themselves.
With 93% of all grades being between grades 9 to 4, 93% of pupils achieving a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 4 to 9 and an incredible 25% of all grades being between Grade 7 and Grade 9 there is much for every pupil to be proud of.
Across the year group, pupils have secured an impressive range of outcomes, with many achieving results that have exceeded expectations and open exciting pathways to further study and future careers, something also seen with St Joseph's former pupils' excellent results in their A Levels at many providers have also shown this week. The school is very aware that behind every grade lies a unique story of hard work, of perseverance, and of personal achievement.
Many students have overcome significant challenges during their time at school, both academically and personally. Some have faced barriers that may have caused others to doubt their potential, yet they have demonstrated remarkable courage and determination to achieve success on their own terms. We are immensely proud of every member of the year group and the progress each individual has made.
While GCSE results are an important milestone, they represent only one measure of a young person's success. At St Joseph's, our mission and ethos has always been about much more than examination outcomes. We believe education should develop confidence, character, compassion and the ability to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Throughout their time with us, the Class of 2026 has grown into a group of confident, thoughtful and ambitious young people and we celebrate this today. They have all embraced opportunities inside and outside the classroom, discovering talents, developing leadership skills and building friendships that will last a lifetime.
Our extensive programme of extracurricular activities provides pupils with opportunities to explore new interests, challenge themselves and develop skills beyond the curriculum. Whether through sport, music, drama, outdoor learning, clubs, community service or leadership opportunities, our students have benefitted from a rich and varied educational experience.
The unique setting of St Joseph's School also plays an important role in nurturing our pupils' development. Our extensive outdoor spaces provide countless opportunities for learning, reflection, recreation and personal growth. We know that young people thrive when education extends beyond four classroom walls, and our environment enables students to engage with learning in meaningful and memorable ways.
We are particularly proud that this year's successes have been achieved by both neurotypical and neurodivergent students, each of whom has brought their own strengths, perspectives and talents to our school community. We firmly believe that every child deserves to feel accepted, understood and celebrated for who they are. Our inclusive approach ensures that pupils are supported to succeed in ways that recognise their individual needs, aspirations and potential.
One of the defining characteristics of St Joseph's is the quality of relationships between staff and students. Our young people know that they are listened to, respected and encouraged to find their voice. In classrooms, on the sports field, in performances, on educational visits and throughout daily school life, students are given the confidence to be themselves and the assurance that they belong.

These results reflect hard work, determination and the support of dedicated staff and families, but they also reflect something greater: the confidence our young people have developed during their time with us.
GCSE results matter, but what matters even more is the remarkable young adults who leave us today. They leave as confident individuals who know their worth, who have been encouraged to be themselves and who understand that their voice matters. Whether their journey now takes them to sixth form, college, apprenticeships or employment, they do so equipped with the skills, values and self-belief to flourish.
We are incredibly proud of every student, many of whom I have known since they were here from their first days in Reception, and we look forward to seeing all that they achieve in the future. Congratulations, Class of 2026. We are proud of every one of you, as young people, whose achievements and character embody everything that makes St Jo's such a special place to learn and to belong." ✨
