So...GSCEs and A-levels have come and gone. Some are 🎉celebrating and some are 😭grieving.

These are real emotions which should be validated.

These emotions stemming from these results do not typecast anyone, for good, better or indifferent.

Now I realise that I've been quiet on here so you may be thinking, oh OK, she's jumping on the bandwagon and selling something...

NO!!!!

I've been quiet on here facebook because I had to 🔐CLOSE my 'books' and STOP taking on new tutors as clients 😱 (happily because I was at FULL CAPACITY and I still am), so I'm NOT posting and seeking clients (although if you are a tutor and you want to know how to be the Go-To Gold-Standard tutor that you want and know you can be, then please comment below YES PLEASE and I'll add you to my waiting list😊). So exactly why am I breaking the work-slience now?

Because I want any parent or student out there to ✋️ STOP before they book a tutor for their child to help with resists.

🤔Why????

Because unless you get a tutor who understands:
⏭️ the topic (this should be obvious!)
AND
⏭️ how the tutee 🔥learns 🔥studies 🔥recalls and 🔥applies that knowledge
then you may well be giving anyway your hard earned 💰 with NO return on your investment

When I tutor students, I always start with an assessment as to how they learn, study and apply their knowledge. Without that pedalogical, andragogical and heutagogical understanding, I cannot help my tutees understand either the topic, or why it's simply not sinking in for them.

Choose wisely!!!!

So what's new with my business then?

Well, you might have seen a couple of reels from me which seem at odds with my helping Tutors become the Go To Gold Standard Tutor. Fear not! That business is thriving and within the year, I'm hopeful that there will be a full suite of qualifications available to really help add so much more value to their services.

So...why the reels from Instagram ?

Because of this simple fact...I am constantly hearing that are so worried about ensuring a future for their children where they will have that they haven't had or got.

More than that, parents are really worried about the impact of on their children, in particular - teens who no longer see the value in or or 😱😱😱😱

Now, as you might expect, that does make me shudder!

But it got me 🤔... what if there was a way to engage your to get excited about about business and developing a strong accumen?

🤔 What if that method ALSO meant that they could CONBINE their social media together with learning AND make 💰 too?

This is exactly where I am directing a branch of my business to!

is a SAFE and LEGITIMATE way to make money. Now, that's not to say it requires no effort because it does, and let's face it, how many out there want to make an effort???🤣

So...why not take back time with your moody teenager and help them develop their own business using ?

It does what it says on the tin:

🔥 it is faceless therefore your teens privacy is ensured

It is a proven method!

There was a post recently on Linkedin by Kath Curry about celebrating her daughter baking. She celebrated it because her daughter had struggled throughout school yet through her own passion of baking, she had found her way in life without getting exceptional grades in school. She was celebrating also that exams do not not define an individual and do not set a ceiling on achievement in life.

HELL YES - she is so right!

Now you might ask, why would I, as a business woman who supports Tutors, say this?

Because I want the learner's, and their families, to know that the Tutors that they pay good money for, want their learners to achieve the best that they can for themselves, and that that is regardless of actual grade achieved or ranking within the 'system'.

It's absolutely brilliant if the raison d'etre for hiring a tutor is an increase in grades and that is what is achieved.

But to me, what is equally brilliant, maybe more so, is if the result of using that tutor is the learner developing a new love of learning that has not been eroded by an external demand and perception (which is NOT, in my humble opinion, true), that achieving high grades is the true marker of success.

One of my own students recently had their own light bulb moment. She hated being in school and saw no correlation between being in school and achieving her dreams. She wanted to be a baker! We sat down together and I helped her with her CV...she saw that those lessons in maths on ratios were useful to her baking; she saw how her experience of leading group work gave her evidence of leading a group for a job application she wanted to complete, she understood all those 'annoying' lessons on creative writing in English actually did have a purpose...

She had been scared to even consider completing that application. Why? Her grades were not expected to be great. We worked one to one for a short time, and by the end of the session, she was smiling. She exuded confidence.

Now, I don't know the outcome of the application, but when she said to me at the end that no one had ever given her a reason to believe that she could pursue her dreams without good grades, or even get anywhere in life without them, and that regardless of the application results, she knew she'd get to realise her dreams, that was the best outcome I could have wished for her.

So, as a business woman helping Tutors, I implore you, as a , stop placing extra pressure on the need to achieve good grades. Know your , understand them, help them.

Be the Go-To Gold-Standard Tutor that you want to be, and engage your learners to love learning.

Whilst some of you know that my thing/passion/business is helping earn more 💰for less hours, but enabling them to give more value to their tutees and a better work life balance for themselves, I am seriously considering renaming myself Mrs Dolittle...

I have an adoptive Dove, 4 mad chickens and an amazing four-legged bestie...who just so happens to think he should watch as the chickens lay their eggs...talk about mother-hen-come-dog!😂🤣😂🤣

Your role is so much MORE than imparting information. Communication is key. When you you need to have communication with the whole package: learner, colleagues, learner's family/carer

You might by now have realised that my 'work' presence on social media has been a little 'pants' recently...I know!😳

Bear with me...the picture of eggs is a bit random I know, but its how I've started my morning - sorting them out in order of freshness, and it got me thinking...

I know I've been quiet on here recently, and linkedin too. Why?

I am a firm believer in that I must:
a) practice what you preach
b) stay current in what you practise

So recently, I have been doing some supply teaching. It's been interesting to say the least...the familiar highs and lows of teaching have all been experienced, together with a total new, and not pleasant experience (that's for another post!) ..

BUT

I put in place everything that I now teach tutors to do and instead of running for the hills and never returning, I went on to have a good day and even went back the next day ( , you know that feeling!!!).

So why the eggs? Sometimes everything comes at you at once, just like my glutton of eggs from my 🐔 and then a final straw happens which threatens to break you. By using just a fraction of what I will be sharing at my FREE workshop on Saturday May 4th at 8pm, I survived when previously I would in all likelihood have cracked.
