🚣 Junior Gig Rowing County Championships 🚣♀️
What a fantastic weekend of rowing! 🌊
First up, a huge congratulations to Ayla and Elspeth, who were selected to represent Cornwall Under 14s at the County Championships on Saturday. 💪
Competing against seven other top counties, the girls delivered a sensational performance to secure an amazing 3rd place on the podium! 🥉 A fantastic achievement and a proud moment for Cornwall! 👏
A big thank you to Mr Richardson for making the trip to cheer them on and show his support. 🥰
But there was no time to rest! Bright and early the very next morning, the girls were back on the water at the International Championships in Plymouth, this time proudly representing Harbour Rowing Club Boscastle.
Competing in the Girls Under 14s category against some of the very best crews, Ayla and Elspeth showed incredible teamwork, grit and determination. Battling their way through several tough heats, they faced a dramatic race to the finish line and secured an outstanding 2nd place! 🥈 What an incredible achievement!
👏
More fantastic results across the squad!
🔹 Under 16s: Two of our Year 11 students put in a fierce performance in the U16s event, showing great determination and competitive spirit.
🔹 Under 14s Mixed: Two Year 7 students stepped up to compete in the U14s Mixed division, rowing brilliantly to claim a fantastic 4th place in a highly competitive field!
🌟 A huge well done to all our rowers who gave their all across two intense days of racing. Your hard work, teamwork and determination have made Launceston College and Cornwall incredibly proud!
Thank you, too, to everyone who travelled, cheered and supported our rowers throughout the weekend. Your encouragement makes such a difference!
