💻🌍 Sustainable Technology in Action! 🌍💻

Today, a group of our Year 4 children, alongside Mrs Bassett, attended a fantastic Trust Computing event at Launceston Town Hall, joining pupils from other schools across our Trust.

The theme for the day was Sustainable Technology, and the children enjoyed a range of exciting activities, including:

🔹 Programming Micro:bits to help identify disasters and exploring how they could be used as scanners to avoid disturbing items or land
🏙️ Designing their own sustainable cities
📱 Thinking about ways they can reduce their own technology use and make more sustainable choices

A huge thank you to Matt from Digitall for leading today's activities and providing such an engaging learning experience.

We were incredibly proud of our Year 4s. They demonstrated our school values throughout the day and represented Windmill Hill Academy wonderfully. 💙

🎉 What a fantastic evening at the carnival! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who came together to represent Windmill Hill Academy in yesterday evening’s Launceston Carnival as the ‘Magical Toy Box’. 🧸 You were all in such great spirits and looked absolutely fabulous! 🤩

🏆 We’re delighted to have achieved 1st place in the school category! 🏆

A massive well done to everyone involved in designing, decorating and bringing our wonderful float to life, and a special thank you to those who drove it in the procession. It looked amazing, and we couldn’t have done it without you! 🚗🎨

A big thank you also to our Friends of Windmill Hill Academy for organising the event and making it all possible. 💙

We’re so proud of everyone who took part and helped make it such a memorable evening. Thank you for your enthusiasm, creativity and support! 💙

✨ What an inspiring day at the very first Cradle 2 Conference, alongside two of our wonderful An Daras schools! St Catherine's C of E School and Nursery St Stephens Community Academy💙💚💙

A fantastic day filled with inspiring ideas, meaningful conversations and opportunities to learn, reflect and share good practice. It was wonderful to connect with colleagues who are all passionate about giving our children the very best start and supporting them to thrive. 🌱

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the first Cradle 2 Conference such a success — we’re already looking forward to seeing where this exciting journey takes us! 💫

🌟 Learning, sharing and inspiring one another! 🌟

An Daras is excited to be hosting an Early Excellence Mixed-Age Roadshow in Callington at the end of this half term.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for our teachers to explore new ideas, share approaches and strengthen their practice, alongside colleagues from across the Trust. 📚✨

Teachers from schools outside of An Daras are also very welcome to attend, providing a great opportunity to connect, collaborate and share ideas with colleagues from across the wider education community.

Giving our staff dedicated time to reflect, collaborate and feel inspired helps us to keep our school offer current, ambitious and engaging for all our children.

Investing in our teachers is one of the best ways we can continue to grow and flourish as a community. 💙
