What a busy and exciting week we had! 🌟

We’ve been making the most of our **last full week of summer before school starts back** and what a week it has been! ☀️

We got stuck into some messy construction play, digging in the “dirt” with our diggers 🚜, made our own playdough pizzas with colourful rice toppings 🍕, and created some wonderful clay art 🎨.

We had so much fun discovering animals in our sensory zoo, and we even kept our favourite finds for another day in our **land animals tuff tray**! 🦁🐘

There were plenty of games too, including a blast of chalk darts 🎯 and creating our very own funky monkeys on paper plates 🐒.

And, of course, we’ve been little bakers all week! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 We made yummy treats including top hats, Oreo balls and even our own pizza subs for snack time! 🍪🍕😋

It really has been the **best last full week of summer**. We’ve had so much fun, laughter, creativity and learning together! 💕🌈

🌿 What a Busy Couple of Weeks We’ve Had! 🌿

We have had such a busy and exciting couple of weeks filled with fun, adventures, fresh air and lots of exploring! 🥰

Our babies have been busy little explorers! We enjoyed some lovely trips out to the Promenade, where we went for a gentle walk and took in the sights and sounds around us. 🌊🚶‍♀️ We even enjoyed a lovely picnic together, making the most of the fresh air and spending special time outdoors. 🧺🍎

We have also been exploring the nature around us, looking closely at the trees, plants, flowers and all the little things we could discover along the way. 🌳🌼🍃 There were lots of opportunities for the babies to experience new sights, sounds and textures, making our outdoor adventures both exciting and meaningful.

Our pre-school children have been having just as much fun! We headed off on a special trip to the park, where the children had a fantastic time running, climbing, playing and exploring. 🛝🌳 They enjoyed being active outdoors, using their imaginations and having lots of fun together with their friends.

It has been wonderful watching the children learn, explore, laugh and make memories together. From peaceful walks and picnics to exciting park adventures, we have certainly made the most of our time outdoors! 💚

We can’t wait to see where our next adventure takes us! 🌈✨

WE ARE HIRING: Nursery Assistant 🌈

We’re looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team!

In this role, you will work as part of our nursery team to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where our children can learn, play, develop and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Childcare & Support: Support children throughout their daily routines, including play, learning activities, mealtimes and personal care.

• Learning & Development: Help provide fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities that support each child's learning and development.

• Care & Wellbeing: Build warm, positive relationships with the children and ensure their individual needs are supported.

• Teamwork: Work closely with room staff and other members of the nursery team to provide consistent, high-quality care.

• Health & Safety: Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment while following nursery policies and procedures.

• Safeguarding: Promote and protect the health, safety and wellbeing of all children in your care.

Essential Criteria & Requirements:

• Qualifications: Minimum NVQ Level 3, or willing to work towards the qualification.

• Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience working within a childcare setting.

• Age: Applicants must be 18 years or over.

• Mindset: Caring, patient, reliable and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for working with children.

• Teamwork: Able to work well as part of a team and support the day-to-day running of the nursery.

• Vetting: Successful candidates must undergo standard pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check, social services vetting, health declaration and two satisfactory references.

🕐 Hours: 21–37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 7:15am–6:00pm.

🚑 We’re AED Ready at Inkpots!🚑

We are so pleased to share that our team at Inkpots Day Nursery has recently taken part in important AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training with the wonderful **Linda, Kelly and Becky from Bennaden Health**. 👏🏼❤️

As part of our ongoing commitment to the safety, wellbeing and protection of the children in our care, our staff and our wider nursery community**, we are delighted to now have an AED on site at Inkpots Day Nursery.

The training was incredibly valuable and gave our team the opportunity to learn how to use an AED confidently and safely, as well as what to do in the event of a cardiac emergency. While we sincerely hope we will never need to use it, having an AED readily available and staff trained to use it could make a vital difference in an emergency. ❤️

A **huge thank you to Linda, Kelly and Becky at Bennaden Health** for their time, knowledge and support. The practical training was really informative, and our team now feel much more confident knowing what steps to take should an emergency ever arise. 🙌🏼

At Inkpots, we believe that being prepared is an important part of providing the safest possible environment for the children who come through our doors every day. Our staff regularly undertake training and development to ensure we are always learning, improving and doing everything we can to keep our little ones safe. 🥰

🌈📚 What a fantastic week our little learners are having so far! 💖

Our week has been filled with smiles, laughter, and endless adventures! 🌟 The toddlers have loved snuggling up with their favourite books during story time, making a splash in our pink pony-themed water play, building and creating with blocks, and having lots of giggles with colourful parachute games. 🐴💦🧱🌈

The fun didn't stop there! Our little chefs enjoyed making their very own delicious ice cream creations, using their imaginations, exploring, and discovering something new every day. 🍦✨

Every activity helps develop creativity, confidence, communication, problem-solving, and friendships, all while making wonderful memories together. 💕

There's still plenty more fun to come this week, and we can't wait to share all the exciting adventures with you! 🎉💛

🌟 What an amazing few weeks we've been having at afterschool! 🌟

We've been incredibly busy, and every day has been packed with fun, creativity, and adventure!

Our little artists have loved getting messy with colourful blow art, finger painting, and stencil creations, using their imaginations to make some fantastic masterpieces. 🎨✨ Playdough has been a big favourite too, with lots of rolling, squishing, shaping, and creating all sorts of imaginative designs while developing those all-important fine motor skills.

We also enjoyed a wonderful trip to the park, where everyone had the chance to run, climb, explore, and play together in the fresh air. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and opportunities to build friendships while enjoying the outdoors. 🌳🛝☀️

Back at afterschool, we put on our aprons and became little bakers, making delicious brownies from scratch. The children enjoyed measuring, mixing, stirring, and, of course, the best part—tasting their yummy creations! 🍫🧁

Our off-road sensory tuff tray was full of exciting textures, vehicles, and imaginative play opportunities. The children loved exploring different materials, creating their own adventures, and letting their imaginations run wild while developing their communication and problem-solving skills. 🚜🌿🪨

To finish off our busy days, we had lots of fun playing bingo together. Everyone loved taking turns, cheering each other on, celebrating wins, and showing fantastic listening and concentration skills. 🎉🎲

It's been wonderful to see the children growing in confidence, working together, trying new activities, and making so many happy memories. We love watching their creativity shine and can't wait for even more exciting adventures, messy play, baking, and outdoor fun in the weeks ahead! 💚🌈✨

👩‍🍳 WE ARE HIRING: Nursery Kitchen Supervisor (Maternity Cover) 👨‍🍳

We’re looking for an independent, reliable Kitchen Supervisor to join our team to cover maternity leave!

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of our nursery kitchen, working on your own initiative to keep our children well-fed, happy, and healthy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Menu Planning & Cooking: Create nutritious, home-cooked lunches and two daily snacks in line with Nutrition Matters for the Early Years.
• Allergen & Diet Management: Apply in-depth allergen knowledge to prepare tasty alternatives so no child feels left out, while collaborating with room staff/key workers regarding fussy eaters.
• Kitchen & Stock Management: Order food online, unpack/store deliveries to regulations, and keep track of kitchen expenditure.
• Compliance & Paperwork: Keep our kitchen running smoothly, cleanly, and safely, while staying on top of daily logs (including SC8 paperwork), cleaning, recycling, and food hygiene standards.
Essential Criteria & Requirements:
• Qualifications: Level 2 (or above) Food Safety Certificate & Allergen Awareness.
• Mindset: Able to work alone confidently, stay organized, and take full ownership of the kitchen.
• Vetting: Successful candidates must undergo standard pre-employment checks (Enhanced DBS check, social services vetting, health declaration, and two satisfactory references).
